I'm not going (too expensive, unfortunately)... but would love an unconference/barcamp thingy on one of the evenings or the Saturday afterwards...
- Egon Willighagen
@Egon I'm not sure if i'll be there either. The main conference is a complete rip-off but the independently organised "Special Interest Groups (SIGS)" are well worth a visit and much better value for money. You might like the bio-ontologies SIG http://www.bio-ontologies.org.uk/ - right up your street.
- Duncan Hull
Oh, there they open for people not going to ISMB itself? ... a bit later... ah, yes. indeed. Still expensive for someone on a fund without travel money... :(
- Egon Willighagen
@Egon SIGS are seperate to the conference AFAIK (they were last time I went). Uppsala to Stockholm isn't that far? You could always couch surf http://www.couchsurfing.org/ in Stockholm
- Duncan Hull
Yes, the travel money is not a problem... but the SIG-only is still some 250 euro...
- Egon Willighagen
The university has approved my travel: I'm going to the SIGs. Bio-Ontologies, here I come! Hope to see many of you there! :)
- Allyson Lister
so good news for anyone who can't go... the robot blogger will be there, we will have verbatim reports of all proceedings ;)
- Simon Cockell
@Simon you're hilarious. I'll probably only be there for the SIGs though - not the main conference :)
