"And, if those English characters were printed at the same letter height as the Chinese characters, they'd need a bigger building. Besides: there is easily more area devoted to English than to Chinese on that sign. A flimsy example, indeed."

"Out of curiosity, I ran Google's GTFS validator on Translink's feed a couple days ago and it really doesn't like the thing. [500 warnings, and an error](http://ubuntuone.com/6rfiw6x...) that pops in with some (but not all of) their updates. I don't know if it really has an impact in practice (looks like the error has been there for a while) but it's weird that these exist at all: their documentation makes it clear that the feeds should be valid as a *first step* to going on Google Transit, and the behaviour for invalid feeds is, as far as I can tell, undefined. However, they do have a human that checks these things and works directly with Translink for the deployment stuff (who presumably decided those particular problems were acceptable), so it could really be anything. Still, it was interesting. Translink needs to hire a few obsessive-compulsive hackers to offset all the get-it-done people they have :)"
