The earliest depiction of elves were from Norse mythology, though, right? Semi-divine/superhuman creatures with magical powers? Tolkien basically just resurrected that image. The annoying little elves are an aberration. (Yeah, I'm actually seriously arguing with a Cracked article.)

It would have been more funny if they accurately depicted Blood Elf males to be metrosexual and emo. Cover art makes them look buff... in-game animations, flavor text and so forth, not so much. That's not to say I don't appreciate BEs. I'm glad they were made to help control the inflating problem of Goldshire.

I just hate those stupid little Keebler-like elves, is all :D They're basically magical vermin. I think I may even hate them more than murlocs.
