What about just for redundant backup storage? Is dobro...sorry, drobo good for that? You like these things? - Bryan Landers
Drobo is good for all sorts of storage, backup, shared network storage etc. It's awesome! I want one and plan to connect it to an Airport Extreme so I can share and access my media from anywhere. A standard USB drive is ok but Drobo gives you a lot more options. - Jon West
Very cool. The media access idea sounds cool. I was in the market for new backup storage, but I ended up just going with a 1TB SATA drive (only $130!!!) to go inside my G5 tower and then just redistribute the 4 other drives I own (3 external). It would be a little too painful at the moment to reinvest in all new drives, but the Drobo seems very clever. Thanks! - Bryan Landers
As long as they are SATA you wouldn't need new drives, that's the beauty of Drobo! You can add and remove drives as needed and they don't need to match in brand or capacity. I'm looking at this solution because I won't have a desktop after the baby comes and I don't want another USB drive. - Jon West
