“Dearest Friendfeed, you have yellow word balloons for comments from people I'm subscribed to, white balloons for people I'm not. How about blue balloons marking comments that I make? That way, when there are 15 new comments after mine, I can find where to start reading again.”

NoiseRiver marks your own activity as red. http://www.noiseriver.com - Louis Gray
Aah, now I understand what are the yellow balloons, where is the official explanation? That would definitely be good to show your own comment in a separate color. - fbrunel
There is a GM script too. - Russellreno
I wrote a Greasemonkey script that does that just yesterday: http://userscripts.org/scripts... (alright, it doesn't make them blue, more like orange/light red). - Ole Begemann
I love you guys. - Akiva Moskovitz
Btw, I'm open to color suggestions. Would blue be more agreeable? - Ole Begemann
Blue would stand out more. Any chance to color the thread starter's comments, too? Maybe green or some-such? - Mark Trapp
Mark: Hm, the thread starter is not readily distinguished in the HTML so it's definitely not as straightforward. But I'll see what I can do with my measly Javascript knowledge. - Ole Begemann
Ole, I would go with 'FriendFeed' blue. Matching one of the colors in the logo, perhaps? - Akiva Moskovitz
Excellent idea! - Jeff P. Henderson
Or, you could just look for the yellow balloons, then twitch your eyes ever so slightly to the right - if you see the word "You" in blue, that's your comment. :-) - Slippy Lane
Slippy, I'm American. You ask too much of me. - Akiva Moskovitz
Ole - When I go to your feed and click on your comments I see them. It would be great if they were a unique color. - Russellreno
Russell: I'm afraid I don't understand your last comment. What "them" do you see when you go to my feed and click on my comments? - Ole Begemann
Them = your comments. I want to highlight a users comments in his or her feed. ie Click on my name to go to my feed. Then click on Comments on the right. That will display my recent comments, but they are in the conversation flow. If those comments were highlighted they would be easier to find. - Russellreno
I vote for user-settable colors. Would love to use higher-contrast colors, but they might be too bright for other people. - Mitchell Tsai
Alright, here's the new version: http://userscripts.org/scripts.... Changed the color of your own comments to FriendFeed blue and now also highlights the thread owner's comments in green. I hope you like it! @Mitchell re: user-settable colors: that's difficult because the comment bubbles are images. I made copies of them and put them on my own server. You could look at the script source, get the 2 PNGs and modify them. Then upload them somewhere else and modify the source code. - Ole Begemann
This is the bee's knees. - Jason Toney
Jason: I had to look that up in the dictionary. Thanks! - Ole Begemann
Ole-how about the cat's pajamas? - Mark Forman
"You're the bee's knees" is part of a great line in the Scottish play A Taste of Honey. And then it was in The Smiths song. or was it a Morrissey song? - edythe
sidenote: Alanis Morissette - [So Called Chaos #05] Knees of My Bees is now queued ;) - Michael W. May via twhirl
Never heard that one either, Mark. Thank you, too! - Ole Begemann
Thanks Ole! - Jason Wehmhoener
The Smiths, Reel Around The Fountain: "You're the bee's knees, but so am I. Meet me at the fountain." Typical... :) - Madsimian
Ha. I love this "bee's knees" tangent. It is the cat's pajamas. - Jason Toney
You guys have strange figures of speech. - Ole Begemann
Magsimian, Jason: Whatever you're smoking, I want some :) - directeur via NoiseRiver
