You're behind, 2007 is waiting to 0wn you. - Aaron Myers
much of the "engineering" education is terribly outdated. We have a subject in 4th year where they teach us HTML. They taught us all about frames and went along to tell us that its the only way to get a uniform look throughout your site! When I argued that frames are a thing of the past and a nightmare for SEO I was promptly shushed up. What's even more wonderful is the fact that all this is actually news to most students! So much for our budding engineers! - Rahul Das
@Rahul - I learnt a long time ago that the best way to spend *those* kind of classes is 1. Practice lolspeak 2. Try refactoring your app designs 3. Try thinking of how your app would've turned out to be if it were architected with some other language/framework in mind. Works pretty well for me! - Yuvi (has IRL friends!)
Trying to get them, *especially* the clueless staff is pretty useless. They seem to be stuck in some sort of stasis that a post graduate research student should find VERY interesting. - Yuvi (has IRL friends!)
@yuvi Four years have taught me that its easier to just sleep through these classes. Does wonders for my nightly Internet time where I actually learn useful stuff! - Rahul Das
@Rahul - I, unfortunately, don't have that previlage :( Sitting in the front 3 rows has advantages - sleeping isn't one of them :( - Yuvi (has IRL friends!)
