I've been following this issue for quite a while...."GINA provides protections against genetic discrimination in both the health insurance and employment settings. The health insurance provisions of the law will take effect in 12 months and the employment protections will take effect in 18 months.
Congratulations to the over 500 members of Congress, hundreds of organizations, and thousands of individuals who stood in support of GINA. Today marks the beginning of a brighter future for all Americans!" - Graham Steel
Hmmm..isn't it kinda a sign that things are screwed up when we have laws to prevent the health insurance companies from getting access to our health information? Now if they could only pass a law preventing the IRS from getting access to our financial records...also funny this should happen while McCain is going on about his "free market" solution to health insurance. - Mr. Gunn
