I use a MacBook Pro as my primary computer, but in terms of an entertainment computer, a Vista PC runs circles around anything Apple has to offer -- especially if you want to pipe content to multiple rooms in your home using XBox 360s as media center extenders. MSFT is two years ahead of Apple in home digital entertainment. - Thomas Hawk
Just to toss this in there - I know a fellow who couldn't get Vista media center to stream to his XBOX because the video card he has doesn't have proper Vista drivers to allow the DRM. The silly thing is he can stream to his PS3 just fine. - Jason Kaneshiro
Thanks Thomas, very good heads up, @jason, sounds like Thomas' problem was that video card issue maybe. interesting... obviously i'll do more research on it... - MG Siegler
I suffered through Vista for 5 months on my brand new laptop. Memory dumps, blue screens, hard drive scans, wireless connection drops, miscellaneous reboots... it's windows ME all over again. Since I installed XP (which I of course had to pay extra for) it's been running like a champ. - Becca
Blue screens are usually an indicator of a hardware/driver problem, not the O/S, most of the time. - Shey
