seems that the "Updates" section of the iGoogle only takes care of contents from Google services. In contrast, Friendfeed and Facebook allow import of other feeds. Unless iGoogle offers import features for other social media, it impose no threats to Friendfeed. - Jansen Lu

Jansen: Not true.. you can actually build igoogle gadgets which can push content to the update stream from 3rd party applications/services. The igoogle sandbox+dev tools made this available a few months ago. It was kind of cool, but buggy as hell & lots of stuff was disabled. Now that it's released i'll have another looksy - Graham Garland
