Good reminder to upload my set of 2006 NYC pics on Flickr. I went in early December... Such a great city, and there's just something magic about being in midtown during the Christmas season. - Vincent X
I couldn't believe how small the Rockefeller Skating rink was. It's like a kiddy pool - Mona N.
And I couldn't believe how big Central Park is. It's HUGE! - Vincent X
@Mona-- ditto. Hollywood gave me huge expectations! - Anna Haro
Favorite memory #1 of NY-walking from Midwood section of Brooklyn over Brooklym Bridge into midtown Manhattan to watch Star Wars on 2nd day in theaters at matinee in AM with theater full of kiddies. Big fun! - Mark Forman
MARK VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: which star wars? - Mona N.
@Ana: and it SO EXPENSIVE. I laughed in their faces when they told me the price - Mona N.
Mark: The first Star Wars movie in 1977? - Vincent X
@Mona-- what's the price??? @Mark-- that is one geeky memory I am truly jealous of--you lucky SOB! - Anna Haro
Star Wars is the first one Mona '77 Vincent, great walk as a teenager it rocked. - Mark Forman
The awesomeness of the walk experience the theater filled with excited kids adding to the robust George Lucas experience. I was a young trekkie and seeing Star Wars on big screen was 7 kinds of sick awesomeness. Magical memory! - Mark Forman
Wow Mark, that's such an awesome memory!!! I still remember watching all of them in the theater too (originals) @Ana: they jacked up the pricing for xmas. it was something ridiculous like 40 bucks for an hour. EF THAT - Mona N.
Wow, that must have been a blast... That's funny because I was actually imagining earlier this evening (during the space scenes in WALL·E) how great it must have been for those who saw Star Wars in theaters back then, that very first time they saw it, the opening scene and everything. - Vincent X
When I was sitting in the theater for that one I was channeling Steven Spielberg and all the old skool magic he felt that inspired him to become a film maker. Definitely awesome feeling. - Mark Forman
I STILL have the OG Star Wars Trilogy on VHS (no player).. something about those films, seriously does it for me -far away look in eyes- - Mona N.
Mona: You might be a soul with a big connection to space, and the movies possibly strike a chord deep within you, as it does for many others. According to psychic friends of mine (and many other psychics throughout the world), tons of souls come from other planets, other dimensions, etc, some are apparently even members of fleets of ships in higher dimensions, who decided to incarnate down here on Earth for this crucial moment in history. Long story. Aaaaaand, now I probably sound like a total weirdo... - Vincent X
In new age/spiritual circles they're often referred to as 'starseeds'. Not a big fan of new agey stuff in general though, and there's a bunch of misinformation online, confusing stuff, bullshit, etc. But if you want to take a look at some of that stuff, here's a starting point, but just take everything with a grain of salt: http://google.com/search?q=sta... - Vincent X
Mona-no but sheds a little light on it. What color is your mood ring now? - Mark Forman
mood ring? if you're talking about my Light Saber it's GREEN thank you very much. - Mona N.
I'm trying to find something very intriguing I read years ago about what someone claims is the origins of the Star Wars story... Not sure if it's still online, I'll look in my notes. - Vincent X
Ahh so ur glad to see me then. I like the sound the light saber generates. The disturbance in the ozone kind of feel. Nothing thrills me more than Darth Vader saying, "Luuuuuuuke", with all that JE Jones breathy goodness. - Mark Forman
Another NY memory-knish's on the Beach at Brighton and drinking Orange Nedick's to wash them down. Those Good Humor guys wearing the modified opith helmets and khaki shorts shlepping the case of ice cream around pretty cool too. That was the dawn of the Coppertone ad campaign with dog pulling girl's suit down with teeth. Always loved that.Just sayin. - Mark Forman
nedicks! that's a blast from the past. a taste of old new york. man, i miss that - Cee Bee
Vincent-in fact it was Orangeade and I mis-typed. I should have typed Orange Nehi's which were orange sodas. Nedick's was a fountain only drink not bottled. - Mark Forman
CeeBee-how about Chock Full 'O' Nuts? - Mark Forman
i do remember they had some good and cheap sandwiches! - Cee Bee
