OMG. How true that is. - Cyndy
It's funny because its true.... - SoN9ne
I would think you would have to debug using multiple browsers. If you aren't making sure the site looks as intended in at least Firefox, IE and Safari, you probably shouldn't be a professional web developer. - Alex Scoble CISSP
So yeah, I guess I didn't get it, heh. - Alex Scoble CISSP
It's not funny because it's old and inaccurate. if you know what your doing. you won't be blowing so much time debugging on IE. - Jason Shultz via twhirl
Isn't that what I said in a lot more words, Jason? - Alex Scoble CISSP
I view sites in IE, FF, Opera, and Safari when developing, and sadly it's true that most of the 'WTF is that block DOING?!?' happens b/c of CSS in IE. The rest of it is due to my crappy coding ability and tendencies to not close tags. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
@stupid blogger, validate your edited XHTML every evening at the least - Michael J. Cohen (mjc)
I do validate, but typically this is when I'm first starting to mod something on localhost. Might have something to do with the fact that it's usually way too late to be coding, too... =) - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
@alex Yes, I was summarizing it. But unintentionally, because I hadn't read the comments and am just sick of seeing this piechart lately. - Jason Shultz via twhirl
Very clever and sooo true. - Nicholas Kreidberg
Good coding is often only 15-25% of total project time. However, better projects often have more design time vs. debugging time. Poor projects are putting out fires all the time, and spend a lot of debugging time. - Mitchell Tsai
SO TRUE - Shey
God, why must everything work with IE?! ARRRRRGGG! Industry standards need to step up the plate and do something to push IE into the depths of oblivion. Did I say I was a stark-raving FF fan? I should have mentioned that. - Pete Delucchi
hahahhahahhaha! I HATE IE and Opera!!! - Mona N.
Please..please don't...Its my weekend, I'm trying to escape from IE! - Mo Kargas
Of course FF isn't 100% standards compliant either. Then again, part of that is because the "standards" are incomplete and vague in places... making 100% consistent compliance impossible. - Soulhuntre via twhirl
Where's the pie slice for "Spending time explaining things in meetings to (insert token inept co-worker). - Mark Krynsky
This is so true! But for me, I think it needs to include 50-75% for "being in meetings to discuss how the web app will function!" And it's great that MS IE6, IE7, and IE8 all generate different errors or have strange "features". It's just wonderful. :) - Daynah
