i found this mssg via feedupyerbuttandroundthecorner.com - have you reviewed that yet Louis? ha, just kidding. no, i don't think anyone think's you're gullible, at least on the internets. You should write a really harsh review of something tho, just to maintain credibility! :0 - Marshall Kirkpatrick
I have written negative reviews. But if you think about it, if I don't like something, I shouldn't want to embed myself in it so much that I need to write about it. Usually, if I don't like something, I just don't use it and write about it. My silence is a bad review. :-) - Louis Gray
@Louis i was the same way on PL, there's too much out there to be forced to review something that sucks and write something really harsh - of course now that I get assigned things to write about, different story :) - MG Siegler
I understand where you are coming from, but I write positive and negative reviews on LP - once I have already spent time looking at something, I might just as well write about it. If anything, I save my readers some time signing up for a service that sucks. Especially because most of the big news blogs hardly write any reviews anymore. - Frederic
To be honest, the above note was teasing Marshall, who doubts my credibility. I haven't tried to steer one direction or another. I don't feel my site's about reviews. It's about whatever I want. - Louis Gray
@Louis .. dang is that what I am doing wrong here?? and here I thought I was doing the right thing posting about crap to warn people :) - Steven Hodson
@Steven: Like warnings about mucking with the Registry, which never, IMHO, go out of style. Not until MS throws it out and makes everyone use INI or XML files. - Voyagerfan5761
Steven, keep being yourself, to even me out. I'll play the part of me, and you play the part of you. - Louis Gray
Anyone heard of balance and context? Surely that's the benchmark - not whether something is positively or negatively reviewed. - Dennis Howlett
I think he heard you were related to Louis Black - j1m
To answer a question with a question - why do you write?
Are you trying to compete with RWW and TC, or are you just covering things that interest you?
If it's just the things that interest you, then I think you're doing fine - unless you're getting paid for it life's too short to spend your time doing reviews of stuff that holds no interest (especially with a day job and twins on the way) - Andy Davies
