When i share with note on greader it doesnt change item status to note i've shared it ie it should now say 'unshare' - anyway.... - ben barren via Alert Thingy

I find the duplicates thing more than mildly irritating, too. And the idea of aggregated comments appeals to me. Hence, posting my comment here instead of techcrunch. But I like the ability to add a note. Don't know how it would work to get them all in one place without the duplicates. Hm, maybe if we didn't all read the same things??? - Tom Landini
Are you sharing the item AND adding a note? You know there is a check box to add to "shared items" when you add a note. I don't know why you're getting dupes, I've shared about 3 or 4 items by adding a note alone, and leaving the checkbox checked to "Add to shared items". No dupes. - Bwana McCall
Agreed, this is confusing. Who am I sharing with? I'm pretty much connected to only 3 others on Google Reader., so I'm pretty lonely there except for my 750-ish feeds. - Mike Reynolds
Bwana: yes. I share the item. Then I decide "hey, I'd like to add a note." Then I click the share with note and I get the duplicate. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but it should note that I'm doing it wrong and that I've already shared that item. - Robert Scoble

It's a usability/workflow issue. The ability to add a note to an existing share doesn't exist. But the functionality that is there is working as intended. Sounds like a feature request to me. :) - Bwana McCall
