@paul and @jlam-- my girlfriend was pretty pissed (and I was slightly concerned) when Gmail showed her an ad for fungal cream on the web clips bar. I could do without the hassle. :) - Josh

Gmail ads aren't entertaining enough. Heaven knows they aren't useful. And they appear completely at the wrong time -- when you're reading a message, even though the time they might possibly be useful is when you're writing one. But ads that update as you type... too weird. :-( - Daniel Dulitz
