this comment will show both on friendfeed and on twitter - unless you see it frist on twitter, in which case it will also be on friendfeed - martin english
I comment here because I don't get abused for answering Tweets here. - Robert Scoble
I also comment here because the answers are threaded. I also comment here because I can permalink to a cluster of comments about a single Tweet. I also comment here because people can "hide" this conversation if they don't like it. - Robert Scoble
oh dude, I see this being a blog post by morning! :) - Paula Hawk
I didn't know you could comment on friendfeed. - Jim Vrckovski
FriendFeed works, Twitter is down all the time. Twitter is a platform, FriendFeed utilizes this platform - for me, in the most useful way I've seen so far. (It's web-based, it allows conversations.) - sebmos
I don't put most things on both FriendFeed and Twitter. Why? I keep getting told I'm too noisy on Twitter so I'm using FriendFeed to reduce my noise. In fact, I've just told everyone to come over here instead of continuing this conversation on Twitter. Conversations aren't really good on Twitter. What is? Answering the question "what are you doing?" - Robert Scoble
Agreed with Robert. I really like the parallel nature of the Twitter / Friendfeed symbiosis. - Soulhuntre
This definitely looks like it's going to get viral! - Vinodh
Twitter need to make some sort of threaded comments system. - Richard Cunningham
I've thought of a better way to handle replies. Msaleem's original message is number 812534216, so to reply to reply @msaleem:812534216 which would map onto http://twitter.com/msaleem/sta... which should also be backwards compatible. Then clients could track the replies in a thread - Richard Cunningham
@ Richard Cunningham My first impulsive thought is : Threads would destroy twitter - Kamath
because it is another conversation thread that is easier to follow than on twitter and connect to other like minded people. - Rodney Rumford
I would use this more if Twhirl would just give me a sound stating someone replied to me. Also, threads are only one level on FF. Twhirl could technically do the same thing with Twitter - why not? - Jesse Stay via twhirl
Jaiku already has multi-level threaded comments. It's Google's fault that people aren't using it. - Morton Fox
Also, Quotably allows you to thread your replies to any tweet you want. - Morton Fox
You brought this on yourself, you know.... - GerryBot
Twitter is not intended to keep conversations. Let's try to keep what it was born to and then, if the tweet is interesting enough let's move the rest to FF. - Hernan Garcia
I think the biggest poblem is when people are adding comments that add nothing to the situation at all. Or when they are just rambling on and on about the same subject or make REALLY long sentences that clearly show that English is not their main language and that get lost in constructions that are hard to understand and you can clearly see that the commenter did not even take the time to read his own comment to see that it lacks proper structure and grammar. But it's like it's with cliffhangers, they are - Ruud van Wijngaarden
So sick of ppl telling me where to leave my comments. I'm sorry, but I'll comment anywhere I damn well please. Period. Get over it. - Shey
I agree with Shey. Recently, a friend of mine deleted his FriendFeed account specifically to stop me from replying to his stuff from here. - Akiva Moskovitz
See the 'choice' as a plus. It just takes a few seconds to come over here and look? - Charlie Anzman
Because we can't comment on them within twitter. I like the whole idea of comments. I wish I would recieve more comments on my friendfeed! - Cade Brown
When someone comments on Friendfeed (in lieu of Twitter), it should be a form of a compliment, showing that you have a higher level of exposure. - Zak K.
