“I wish we had the ability to filter out foreign language entries. Some folks post in both English and their native languages, so one wouldn't want to unsubscribe just because they sometimes post something you can't understand.”

I meant on FriendFeed, of course. - Dewald Pretorius
Hi, I created a Greasemonkey script to do this job, would you like to try it out and give me some feedbacks? http://thetinybit.com/Project/... - Yu-Jie Lin
"Any sub-entry of entry is written in language which you don't want to read, then the whole entry will be excluded." Any way you can exclude only the foreign language comment, and not the entire entry? - Dewald Pretorius
Can't download it.. - Shey
@Shey "Install directly" points at wrong place, fixed, please try again. - Yu-Jie Lin
@Dewald Pretorius That really is important to have, I will make it happen in next version. - Yu-Jie Lin
@Yu-Jie Still can't download even after refreshing - Shey
Is it just me? None of these links are working for me -- they don't even budge - Shey
I think it's just me -- for some reason I can't install any GM script - Shey
why filter. . . couldnt we write some code to translate? - Anthony
If you write code to on the fly translate Persian/Farsi and English back and forth, let me know. - Michael W. May via twhirl
@Mike W May....i mentioned that a while ago but it never took...I really think FF should just ask you when you sign up, and that language you chose should be the proprietary. - Anthony
Google Translate has an API. They can just hook into that. - Dewald Pretorius
Just made an update that supports in-place hidden and few other things. If you are interested in getting latest version of this script, please bookmark http://friendfeed.com/e/21463e... - Yu-Jie Lin
Yu-Jie, I'd be interested in FF translation GM script using Google Translate API...even if it is a bit slow. - Hao Chen
@Hao Chen, ok, give me few days to try. - Yu-Jie Lin
I would LOVE to see translation - it's a shame we don't look to that more. It's never the case that I don't "care" what someone says in a foreign language, I may just not understand. - Vince DeGeorge
