Movie money is SICK money. Hollywood spending is crazed, but Sahara is especially awesome in its burn rate. Its ten writers cost a total of $3.8 million. McConaughey got $8 million. $10 million was paid for the story from Cussler. (Ouch.) A scene of an airplane crash cost over $2 million and was deleted. Meals cost $1.4 million.
