Make that, "FriendFeed is now a lot times faster" - Paul Buchheit
No details?!? Maybe we'll learn more about this from your changelog - Benjamin Golub
Now with 300% fewer units of slowness. - Jim Norris
We got rid of 6 of the 7 pause loops. - Kevin Fox
I was hoping for details on clever tricks with slick performance graphs. maybe it was just taking out netflix. :) - David Vasileff
More details are in the Changelog blog (http://changelog.friendfeed.co...). It is basically a new indexing scheme, and a bunch of tuning of the code to query that index to construct the feed pages. - Bret Taylor
I don't notice much difference; FF is always super responsive, so I'm guessing my experience is dominated by my browser and the network. - ⓞnor
I don't notice a difference either; it's always been very responsive for me. Except for the recommended friends page, that one takes a few seconds - Benjamin Golub
Never noticed how slow it was, but always glad to have my internet stuff much faster. Makes me wish I had complained about it beforehand so I could take credit for "getting those darn friendfeed people to get off their butts and fix this darn thing!" (plus a few unnecessary expletives of course). - Cyrus Lendvay
Now it's too fast! Slow it down! :-) - Louis Gray
According to the changelog, Bret works very hard. - Cyrus Lendvay
I just check in my code one character at a time so it looks like I am working harder. Combine that with a bot that checks them in at all hours of the day, and I look like the most productive person in the world. Maybe I can get a job at Mahalo now ;) - Bret Taylor
It definitely is much faster now :) - Paul Appleby
Odd, I never noticed any speed problems on this site in the first place. Can't you guys save all your speed improvements until the time we really *need* them? ;) - Philipp Lenssen
Nice! Faster is always better. What you're using to measure that 50ms number? Is that the total rendering time (like what you're seeing in Firebug), or is that the time it takes to pull down a page over the net? - DeWitt Clinton
50ms is server time. The network transfer time can be quite a bit longer, esp. for people far away. - Sanjeev Singh
Nice. Memcached? - DeWitt Clinton
Nevermind -- answered my own question. Your changelog, once again, rocks. - DeWitt Clinton
feels faster to me, i think. - ƃuɐʞ
the great firewall of china has deemed your changelog dangerous and blocks access to it. at least the latter half of that is true. - darren
FriendFeed service rockets in Ireland. It's the cleanest (least spammy) aggie in my life. - Bernie Goldbach
