The primary reason people blog or comment is to share their views or insights. Often this is in the form of disagreement, but ask any blogger if they'd rather a sharply worded disagreement or to be completely ignored. The real insightful comments come from those who've been around since usenet. 1 - people will always be more aggressive in a comment than they will to your face, so you just have to deal with that, and 2 - the comments themselves are only one source of information.
