@marcel, not sure if you were replying to me, but I am just pointing out that these "pay to play" rumors are everywhere. - Rob Diana
Rob, I was referring to Jasons Tweet. such an accusation ins nonsense. these "big names" ar all bloggers. no one in their right mind would ask them to use their site for payment. it just takes one to blog about this and everyone is in deep trouble. and that's just one argument. I smell envy btw. ;) - marcel weiss
Just asking a question. not starting a rumor. - Jason Goldberg
marcel: chill jason/rob: its a viable question of course but the way friendfeed is setup makes it somewhat irrelevant and thus not part of a good business model - both socialmedian & friendfeed are opt in subscription filter based services - so no matter how many perceived "big names" use it folks still need to sub/follow/filter for them which just wouldn't scale enough to positively effect adoption - bottomline: if i saw this in a business plan i'd give it a negative mark as poor use of funds :-p - mike "glemak" dunn
No, but I hear they're paying them to push Twitter over capacity ;-) - Rubin Sfadj
rubin: funny - but that would be identi.ca if so, ff is a different beast than twitter ;) - mike "glemak" dunn
Hey all -- sorry if this came across as negative. I actually think it is a viable early-adopter/influencer strategy. Huff Post does this very well and has built their entire site around their contributors. I had heard from a couple of folks that FF might be doing this and thought it was worth asking the community if anyone had any such knowledge. I have nothing wrong with it (although it should probably be disclosed). Anyway, sorry if got anyone riled up -- was just thinking out loud. - Jason Goldberg
