I look at it on the work to live scale. Pre-technology, in various parts of the world, one would have to work from sunup to sundown, every single available day to ensure shelter and a stock of food and fuel for his family/tribe/collective (lol) to survive. The work would be gruelling and risky. I get to play with metal and power tools for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week to achieve the same ends. - Slippy Lane
