MONA! I was just thinking about this today. Lately, I would much rather be sitting at the computer in the company of my FF friends than engaging with my "real" friends. :-/ - Anna Haro
I agree, Anna. I find FF to be much more positive than my real life. - Michelle Martinez
I'm with you, but it's sort of a source of concern -- do you think it's healthy? Are we all screwing up our lives this way. - Nathan Rein
So what's the magic spell to homogenize the experience? - Ⓒⓗⓡⓘⓢ ᴷᴵᴹ ᴬ
I agree - I've had more fun with people here than I have lately IRL. I think I would talk to my real friends more if they used FF too. Then my friends could get with your friends, we could do this every weekend! - Morgan
My wife keeps yelling at me cuz I spend to much time on here. I wonder if that's bad? - Jonathan (Bad Robot)
Is that alright wich' you? yeah Keep bangin'...I love it when you call me Big Poppa... +++Morgan hahahaha! - Anna Haro
You guys, Im in the bathroom, Tweeting and FFing. wow. I either need new friends or Im truly addicted, or perhaps the combination of both! - Mona N.

Oh, I don't really need to pee. I'm sitting in the stall, checking my email and FF.... for the 4th time, already. Anna: when're you giving it back?!?!?????? ;) - Mona N.

FF has become my most enjoyable web experience, it's highly addictive, and still i don't see it replacing Face-to-face interaction with my RL friends. I see no competition between the 2, things come together just fine. - Majento
so this is what powdering your nose is. - Geoff Schultz
Mona: the bathroom again? ewwww... and yes, you are antisocial, in the traditional sense. You are metasocial though! - Louie
Metasocial, I like that, did you make it up? If so TM it IMO. - Geoff Schultz
This sounds kind of weird but I find it much easier to "maintain friendships" online than off, simply because of the lack of available time to meet with people in meatspace. FF (and other networks) gives me the ability to socialize when it's convenient for me. And the fact that I can participate in a conversation not in real time is also convenient. I am only anti-meatspace-social for lack of free time. - Lindsay Donaghe
You know it doesn't hurt at all that there is this constant stream of topics to talk about literally endlessly. In the "Real World", if such distinctions are really required anymore since this is real enough for me, you burn through your topics and your done in no time and then what. - Geoff Schultz
"Compooping" is the sniglet I believe, and we can tweet about it. PLURK. Oops, gotta go. - Eric Rice
do NOT mention that poor excuse of an SNS to me, Eric. K? Thxkbai - Mona N.

i got a gal i know a few blocks away to join twitter and now we not only communicate more frequently but also get together more often! before we only met at parties now we're like bff. my friends who don't get social media i tend to hardly see or speak to... - Anji Bee
Think a research prject at a major university on your original question .... and the fact that you're tweeting in the bathroom .... are both in order. - Charlie Anzman
I'm going to pretend I have a choice...yeah! I prefer my online friends..anyday! Huzzah! - Kamath ॐ
I feel ya Anna & Monda. Then I was sad 4 a day when some A listers unsubbed. reality check - spent more time w/real friends...LOL - Ruth Ferguson
Oh I thought Plurk was the sound a doodie made when you pass, well wait that would be like a BB ricocheting. You know what, forget I said anything. /me looks for minidisc recorder - Eric Rice
See! I missed this entire thread because I was out last Saturday night :( - Michelle Marie Miller
