It's taken from the first line of the note itself, isn't it? - Akiva Moskovitz
yes, but I don't want it to be... on the website you can name them whatever you want. When you do that and sync the titles show up correctly. I'd specify the first line in the Windows app if I were creating a note but I'm using the web clipping tool and you don't get that option (it uses the local app to gather the notes instead of directly uploading to the website). - Lindsay Donaghe
yeah, i'm pretty sure that's how it works.. whatever the first line of text is in note becomes the title - Jasmin Smith
Right, that's how it works... I just am not sure why you can change it on the web version but not on the Window's client version. It seems like a pretty basic function! - Lindsay Donaghe
I think if you go to the top.. the "list view" (for lack of a better term) and right click the title, there's an option to RENAME... it changes the title without adding text to the screen shot. Is that what you mean??? - Jasmin Smith
The closest option I see is "Reindex" and that doesn't seem to do anything. I've right clicked on everything I can think of and explored all the menu options. It's just odd that that feature is left out! - Lindsay Donaghe
IDK... I'm using the Windows client and I can rename my notes the way I described above. I'm running v. 3.0.0.681 Reindex is the right-click option if you click on the title of the note itself, but when I go above that to the list of notes, (Creation Date -- Title -- Tags -- Notebook -- Modification Date) and right-click on the title of the note I want to rename, there is an option to re-name... but I don't think it was always there, because I had your same frustration weeks ago - Jasmin Smith
I think I found it!! I didn't know what you meant by "list view" but I stumbled on that and you're right, clicking on a note there does have a rename option. THANK YOU, Jasmin! - Lindsay Donaghe
yay! glad to help! - Jasmin Smith
Now, do you know how to import PDFs? I read about people doing that but it's not obvious either... do you have to mail them as attachments or something? - Lindsay Donaghe
You import PDFs by GOING TO BED. C'mon... let;s go! - Tad - just Tad
Tad I think you're on to something... I just told Shey the same thing... but he's too wired to sleep! Importing PDFs... i have NO IDEA! .. I don't think it can do that yet.. at least not natively. - Jasmin Smith
I just tried dragging and dropping the file into the client. Seemed to work fine. But it doesn't show you the pdf there... just the file link. You have to click on it. Not sure if the OCR works like that either because searching didn't turn up results on stuff I know is in the PDF. - Lindsay Donaghe
