hi, i just accidentally ignored a subscription request from you. just got a little spastic with the mouse too near the the word ignore and it was gone. if you want to send another i'll try to be less of a spaz! i'm new here are could use more connections!
- Sarah
Incredible. I'm wondering how the little animal do that. Flexible bones, I guess...
- Carl Cabading
congrats *echo pours you a glass of OJ*
- echostreamer
Leo: I'm hoping some sort of cool black titanium ;)
- metalerik
Laura: yeah, I totally fought the power and got clean at 21. ;)
- metalerik
Jemm: cool! not sure if this is you too but I have a friend that just never tried any of it. It's so rad because he's a total metal head and been in lots of bands that have toured all over the earth. It's a cool example of one way to go. I don't at all think it's wrong to drink or whatever- just if it messes up a person's life and relationships (like for me and even then it's not for me to judge).
- metalerik
thanks again everyone. you guys are the only ones I told. xo FF friends!
- metalerik
congrats. you should be damn proud of yourself ; )
- liladreams
@metalerik: Yeah, never tried for no particular reason. I'm far from metal head, though ;) I'm just a geek who wants to be always in control of himself and able to think clearly in all situations. It's probably harder to give up drinking after trying, like you have done, than not having an idea what's the big deal, anyway :)
- Jemm
You've obviously perfected time travel, Johnny, so could you send a time machine to pick me up & take me to the future?
- josh neff, geek at large
Yolanda... As someone who usually has to wait for software and media releases until it's 'x' o'clock US time... NENER-NENER-NENER :P
- Johnny Worthington
Johnny in the future do you all still use napkins or is the mouth vacuum a big hit?
- Rick Schmidt
I don't take any flu shots, don't need them. I played in the dirt and run around outside when I was a kid :)
- Carlos Urrutia
lol, Carlos, that protects you from allergies, and attenuates the magnitude of hypersensitivity response, but does jack for novel antigens. I SUPPOSE you could have by random change been exposed as a youth and tolerized to an antigenic epitope similar to one which MAY resemble and epitope on the surface of swine flu infected cell, and thus would not mount a major response against it, but we're talking odds way worse than getting hit by lightning or bedding Charlize Theron.
- Matthew DeVries
Bah! Swine flu probably kills more pigs than humans anyways. I have no idea how many times I've been hit by the flu. Who knows, I might have just been hit by a nasty cold instead. But during flu season I usually just feel a little crappy for 2-3 days and then I'm okay. No missing work or anything.
- Carlos Urrutia
Why stop at pancakes? Go for the bacon!
- imabonehead
In fact, skip the pancakes...just have the bacon :)
- Amy
I got both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 shots... my arm hurts like a bitch! But it's worth it to not have to worry about getting the flu at CES.
- Veronica
I have no idea what you mean. I just love you guys. Something definitely happened here though that's making me wonder if something happened in the space-time continuum. Oh well. Happy New Year! :) http://ff.im/dv0MG
- Dave Friedel
Happy New Year yourself. Now feed me!
- Tom Landini
listen to me closely: you play too many video games. Too many.
- anna sauce
Me and the dog agreed: NO MORE PORN FOR YOU!
- Spidra Webster
Shawn- it's a test of the wits, or twits if you'd rather.
- anna sauce
I'm more *real* that the ones you're tweeting with! Look at me! Look!
- directeur
"Stop this LOLCats madness. We don't talk like that. In fact, we don't talk."
- anna sauce
"All this talk of "twitter" and "tweets" - where are the birds?"
- LB - all new for '10!
"You know that hummingbird you prevented me from killing the other day? I'm going to get back at you... one... of... these... days. When you least expect it. Payback is a b***ch."
- anna sauce
"Stop with the internets... I need eye contact to steal your soul!"
- SAM
Dour-cat is unimpressed with your New Year's outfit.
- Ken Morley
all you could see, was thousands one side of the river Thames, pointing the phones, videoing, at the display as it was happening ... across the river!! amazing!! :)
- Tatty Gibson
Wow, I had a salt water tank and would've loved to have one of these guys. Scared me to much though. I could see me one late night feeding and then being in the emergency room...but very interesting and beautiful fish
- Bill Heslin
This fish eats like you wouldn't believe! I feed it 3-5 jumbo sized shrimp (frozen from Safeway) every week. It's about 8" long from fin to mouth. I inherited this one a few months ago from a friend who was moving and had to dismantle his tank.

"The glowing embers left behind by one of the most powerful type of explosions in the Universe have been revealed for the first time.Remnants from giant fireballs unleashed by a supernova are still glowing at temperatures 10,000 times hotter than the Sun thousands of years after the event. They were captured by the Japanese Suzaku space observatory, after unusual features were detected in the Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443), 5,000 light years away."

I'm just lazy this year. Got invited to a party, but don't really feel like going. I'm planning on spending the weekend over in Santa Cruz, Ca with a long time friend. So I'll make up for the lack of NYE partying a day later....
- Jeff P. Henderson
Come to my place! Thai food, drinks & nibbles, board games, music, nudie run at midnight.
- Mellissa
Man, I've been old for a long time then. I find NYE second only to Valentine's Day for overratedness.
- Kenton
I'm usually not big on partying on NYE either. Normally too wrecked from Christmas/Birthday festivities. Tonight we're going to my mum and dad's because THEY are having a party. But we'll be home long before midnight #3kidsunder6

"The human brain works at a far higher level of complexity than previously thought. What has been given little attention up to now in the information processing of neuronal circuits has been the time factor. "Liquid computing" a new theory about how these complex networks of nerve cells actually work from computer scientists at Graz University of Technology has just passed its first test. An interdisciplinary co-operation with neuroscientists from the Max-Planck Institute (MPI) for Brain Research in Frankfurt managed to show that early processing stages in the brain pool information over a longer period. For the evaluation of the experiments, the researchers also had to crack the neuronal code. The scientists published the new findings of their research work, which is funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF in Austria, in the current edition of "PLoS Biology", one of the most prestigious journals in this field."

interesting concept, I think we all knew there was a little more to it than a network of synapse. I still dont think it scraped the surface though. great post

Hehe... I ask several of you "Given the opportunity to live inside a book or movie for a month... which would you choose?" Totally meant it to ask for a specific book or movie you would like to live in... question fail.
- SAM
my answer: Harry Potter but only if I get to marry Neville Longbottom :)
