Nor are there many rewards as sweet as the view from the top of a mountain on a sunny day seen only because your two feet took you there.
Nothing feels quite as good as that moment when you take the last step off a particularly challenging mountain trail.

I'm going to guess there are a lot of headline-writers who don't understand why that's offensive. And yet, oddly enough, almost no newspaper headlined "Father of two elected President" in 2008. Wonder why that is? - Walt Crawford
To father a child takes but a moment. To mother one takes a lifetime. I see such headlines (without context) as a positive thing. Maybe that's just me? - Slippy
But that's also reductive of good fathering, though. In the best light, in a lede like this, mentioning she's a mother seems irrelevant. - Victor Ganata
It's just not appropriate, and it isn't positive. By that reasoning, the childless woman is less qualified to lead the BBC? No. For male candidates, you'd see something along the lines of, "Ex-CEO of The Financial Times Group" or "HSBC Director" instead, which would be both informative and correct. Heck, the way this is written, they have to shoe-horn that information into the first paragraph, and her name isn't even mentioned until the second. - Jennifer Dittrich
Sorry, Slippy, but I can't go along with you on this one. The story isn't about the woman having three children; it's about her being likely to be the BBC's leader--and for that, the headline is inappropriate (Jennifer offers a good quick summary as to why). - Walt Crawford
I understand, and I stand corrected. Eloquently put by all three of you. - Slippy
*high fives all around* - Jennifer Dittrich
Wait, what? Daenarys Stormborn has taken over the BBC? I'm so confused. I thought she was still running Meereen. - Stephen Mack from iPhone
Oh JFC. I can't even with this world sometimes. I walked out on a date the other night after he said that if women wanted to be paid more, they should just get different jobs. Now this. - laura x from iPhone

Over 6000 steps so far today, and I haven't left my house yet. #cleaning
Cleaning does wonders for me with step count. I am not efficient. - Hedgehog
Despite regular maintenance, my house seems to collect an inordinate quantity of cat hair and dust in the corners and under things.
Cleaning all the things. I will need a long shower after this. In my super clean bathroom. Yes. Parental visits have beneficial effects.
I've been up for an hour and a half, and so far I've accomplished two loads of laundry and a thoroughly clean bathroom. Breakfast, too.
On to the next room for organization and deep cleaning!
