People facing unemployment, mounting debts and losing their homes could feel they have nowhere to turn, the charity said. It urged everyone to look out for family, friends and colleagues in the coming months and over the Christmas period. Research has shown that people who are unemployed are two to three times more likely to commit suicide than those with jobs.
