Millennials Genuinely Think They Can Change The World And Their Communities | Co.Exist: World changing ideas and innovation - http://www.fastcoexist.com/1682348...
U.S. care less about the environment and are more optimistic than their counterparts in other countries. They’re more concerned about the economy than anything else, but they still believe their quality of life is better than their parents’ generation. And through it all, the vast majority believe they can make a difference in their local communities. This is all according to a survey of 12,000 millennials in 27 countries (ages 18 to 30) from Telefónica that probed respondents on their feelings about technology, education, personal freedom, and more. The overarching message: this generation has a lot of hope, in spite of the many global crises staring them down. - Ed Cyzewski

I’m still here: back online after a year without the internet | The Verge - http://mobile.theverge.com/2013...
What I do know is that I can't blame the internet, or any circumstance, for my problems. I have many of the same priorities I had before I left the internet: family, friends, work, learning. And I have no guarantee I'll stick with them when I get back on the internet — I probably won't, to be honest. But at least I'll know that it's not the internet's fault. I'll know who's responsible, and who can fix it. - Ed Cyzewski

I don't believe in writer's block. It's not that sometimes you can't write, it's that you can't write well. Experience has told me that writing poorly sometimes leads to something better. Not writing at all leads only to reruns of "Law and Order." Which I love, but still. - Ed Cyzewski

SEO, done right, should never interfere with great writing. In fact, hopefully, it can help, by giving you a spark of imagination or inspiration about what readers want, how they think and where the core of their quest to discover new things begins. - Ed Cyzewski

Attention Spans in 2020: Will Technology Hurt Your Child's Brain? - http://mashable.com/2012...
“The replacement of memorization by analysis will be the biggest boon to society since the coming of mass literacy in the late 19th to early 20th century,” said Paul Jones of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Others thought constant stimulation could lead to a halt in progress. “Short attention spans resulting from quick interactions will be detrimental to focusing on the harder problems,” argued Alvaro Retana, a technologist at HP. “We will probably see a stagnation in many areas: technology, even social venues such as literature.” - Ed Cyzewski

My Take: The Bible’s surprisingly mixed messages on sexuality – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs - http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011...
Sloppy, poor theology. She actually reads the Bible like a fundamentalist in order to justify her own position. Kind of makes my head spin that a liberal can read the Bible in an absolutist sense at one turn and then go willy nilly at the next moment. There have to be better examples of a pro-homosexuality position, even if I don't think it's right. - Ed Cyzewski
