Now this just annoys me, there's so much real homophobia out there that taking offense at comedy just works against the gay community. Personally I thought this was quite a funny commercial, and considering the previous adverts, is completely in character for the series of ads.

"I'm with you Lisa, although I was less upset by the wolf as I was by the idea of The Nothing. I couldn't understand it properly but I just new it terrified me (and it still does!) I also had nightmares for years over the Death of the Skeksis Emperor, it really was a very unpleasant film, but I loved it. In fact - thinking about it - the three films I adore the most from my childhood, The Dark Crystal, NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth were all pretty scary. And although it was a travesty of a sequel, the memory draining machine from NeverEnding Story 2 was pretty bad too!"

"Thanks Sarah! I could genuinely have seen it with Nick, he didn't seem to know what he wanted to be/do/whatever and was so distracted that he probably wouldn't have noticed! But fair play to Auntie for covering the subject, and I suppose we'll just have to suck it and see (Matron!)"

"Sorry David! I think I may have mixed Shape Writer up with another application, but yes - Shapewriter does seem to be the precursor to Swype. Now I just need to remember what that awful programme I used was so that I don't try to download it again by mistake!"

"Augure, sorry to disagree, but it's not wrong. The only way you can use third party apps to replace stock iPhone apps that I know of is to jailbreak, and by extension invalidate your warranty as well as have Mr Jobs look at you fiercely for destroying his precious. Whereas it's been a built in feature of Android since its inception that you can download apps from any source, web, market, third party markets etc... and use the app just by ticking one little box."

"That's quite weird to me fiskadoro, personally I'm not too keen on Swype for longer messages/emails/blog posts or documents, but I have been using it for tweets and SMSs. I just love my hardware keyboard too much for those longer messages!"

"Tom, I'm nothing to do with Swype but have you remembered to tick the box in Manage Applications to allow you to install non-market apps?"

"Shapewriter's a bit different David, you type symbols that either are or resemble the letters that you want to write. I really couldn't get away with it myself as it meant learning a whole new alphabet just for typing. With Swype you just have to remember where the letters are on the keyboard and it's a bit like dot-to-dot."

"Yes Android is fragmented, but no more than Linux (which it's based on) or Windows etc... Fragmentation isn't necessarily a bad thing - it's a choice. I know Mashable have an obsession with all things iPhone so you won't understand that some people like choice. If you want the most up-to-date OS then get a new high-end Android, if you want a cheaper alternative then go for a mid-range, mid-spec phone, and if you want even cheaper then go for the lower end of the market. Yes, it's frustrating for those of us stuck on 1.6 because we joined the Android train as it first pulled out and were tied to stupid 18-24 month contracts, but at least now we know that Android will continue to move forward even if the hardware can't."
