"Nice post, Kevin. I've also noticed that certain things are "easier" these days, for instance, I haven't picked up a reference book in ages, whereas before they sat on my desk at all times. Nowadays, that little javascript trick you're trying to remember is bound to be somewhere on the internet."

"I can't wait to see you! I think that may be the week of Master's National Track Championships in Colorado Springs. I stay in CS starting Tuesday night, the 18th through Sunday. When do you get in? Let's chat over email!"

"We have a little bit of information in our API docs that should help you. Go to http://gnip.com/docs and then under the filters heading, click "Entering different types of values within the filter". The confusion may be the difference between entering data via the web form, or just adding the rule values to formatted xml and sending to Gnip via the REST API. If you are still having trouble, I can help you. Just send me an email, ingrid @ gnip.com"

"Pretty much what their rules are, we follow. However, be sure to note that each rule in a filter is subject to their 140 limit. So, you can have many rules in a single filter and as long as each of them is under 140 characters, you'll be fine."

"Oh and recently someone crashed into my rear light while parked so I have a replacement that doesn't quite fit and water now leaks into the trunk. I have been riding my new bike for a few weeks, so it's about time for me to write another blog post. Thanks for coming by!"

"I'm taking you to the track Mr. Let's chat about when. I'm tired of all this "I need to get to the track" talk. And besides, the next series of classes starts soon."

"I totally agree, and would also add cycling to this theme. I think discipline in endurance sports gives people a mental edge to hold up to pressure, stress, tiredness, and keep their patience, focus and persistence; skills much needed in this space. Also, going on long runs/rides helps clear the mind and make solving technical problems a bit easier! Not to mention the health benefits of doing something other than sitting in front of a computer ;-)"

In this "startup" culture is anyone thinking of a sustainable business or just startup and cash out? Startup is ringing pretty hollow right now, like a lottery of some sort.
The reality is, having a company is a commitment, and selling it may even be moreso... I dont think the reality is a lottery, even if people make it seem that way.

"Wow, that's a great use of Yahoo's Pipes. What is really interesting is to see what jobs get cross-posted. I know folks that will only look at jobs in Craig's list and never on Dice or Monster because of a perception of a higher likelihood of "fake" jobs or vague posts made by recruiters. Very cool!"

"Right now, racing is on Thursday nights at 7pm. It would be fun if you came by. Also, they are doing 101 classes on the weekends for folks like you. I'll go with you if you like, check their schedule at http://boulderindoorcycling.com"

"Andrew's presence on social media (blog, twitter stream, bright kite check-ins) pretty much sums up the wealth of creativity, knowledge and follow-through he has. He's always got a million ideas, and even better, actually implements them. He's not one of those people that forges ahead alone. Rather, he brings together a community of folks who in turn make the ideas grow and develop. He would be the perfect addition to any business school and Leeds will be lucky to have such a wonderful community builder in their program."
