"Since everyone thinks football is such a macho sport, they assume that players should be able to suck it up and play while they’re injured. Well, that’s about the most naive belief I’ve ever heard of. If you’re a player in the NFL who’s making five million dollars a year to play a GAME and some bad luck blows out your knee, you’re gonna be stuck in a pretty rough situation. You can either take your time to rehab your injury with the utmost care, or you can rush your recovery, return to the field prematurely, and then potentially re-injure the same knee so badly that it ends your career."

"When a professional athlete becomes injured, the organization they play for typically begins to ask itself the following question... "How can we get this player back on the field as quickly as possible?" However, on the other side of the table, you have the player's agent who is asking himself a question that sometimes doesn't match what the client's team has under consideration... "What actions should be taken to assure my client a timely recovery, yet, at the same time, won't rush the healing process in a way that could potentially shorten their overall career?" Do you see the difference between the two perspectives?"

"Once again, Herman Johnson, Arizona Cardinal and client of Elias Sports Management, is proving himself to be a real class act. This coming Tuesday, he's going to be making a trip to Denton, Texas where he'll donate a little bit of his money and motivation to the school he used to call home, Lee Elementary, as well as a second donation to the Ann Windle School for Young Children."

You Think Football Players Are Brave!?! The Real Warriors Are Those Who Are Fighting for Our Freedom | LockerBlogger - http://www.lockerblogger.com/blogs...
"I gotta take a moment to give a shout-out to our country's war Veterans, as well as all the brave men and women who are currently putting their lives on the line in Afghanistan and the other danger zones around the world, where they're doing everything they can do to bring Peace to The People. I really don't have the words to explain how appreciative I am for their services; please just know that I am, forever and always..."

"Chicago, Illinois - it's easily one of my favorite cities in the country, not just because it's an incredible town, but because it's also the home of one the best organizations in the NFL: the Bears. I went there this past weekend to check out a game and check in on my boy Kevin Payne. And to make the trip even sweeter, I was able to bring a group of my closest friends with me, because I always like to take them to at least one game per year so they can kinda experience what an agent does on a daily basis. I really wish I could bring them along more often."

I swear... I couldn't ask for a better roster of clients. Take a look at what my boy, Travis Daniels (he re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs this week), had to say about his journey back to the NFL and how I had a hand in helping him get there...

"Here's a list of the interview's football related highlights (begins at about the five minute mark): - The Cleveland Browns are struggling, so is the Bears' recent victory against them that much of an accomplishment? - After having a few rough games, what does a victory do for a team's confidence? - What does Kevin plan on doing, personally, to help the team throughout the rest of the season? - What's it like playing for a team whose fans are so incredibly passionate about them? "Congrats Travis! Elias Sports Management client, Travis Daniels, just re-signed a two-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs! He's excited to be back in the fold and can't wait to get back out there to do his thing ;-) This is a great example of a client and agent working hard together to make sure that they were perfectly positioned to take advantage of an opportunity once it struck. Travis didn't give up on the process... he didn't give up on me... and I didn't give up on him. He continued to work out every week with full intentions of getting back on a team and sure enough the Chiefs - the team who initially cut him during their summer training camp - came-uh-callin' to bring him back where he belongs: The NFL."

"Kevin Payne is one of many prominent professional athletes who are participating in the "After School All-Stars" (ASAS) program. Its goal is to encourage kids to become involved in positive after school activities in an effort to decrease the likelihood that they'll run into any unfortunate opportunities to become involved in drugs, gangs, etc. on their neighborhood streets."

"The past few days have been filled with recruiting visits. I brought one of my agency's Vice Presidents of Recruiting with me, Aaron Green, who's Jarvis Green's brother (New England Patriots' defensive end), and we had two great, great meetings with a couple of guys who could quite possibly become future clients. Unfortunately, I can't reveal the names of the guys, because of how competitive this business is, but let's just say that both of them are UNREAL!"

The combination of a beautiful stadium, good weather, good football and good people really made my trip to Glendale, Arizona to visit "Big Herm" (Herman Johnson) and Chris Harris a perfect one. Unfortunately, there's always a winner and a loser on Sundays when you have clients playing on opposing teams. Chris had one helluva game and was ALL OVER THE FIELD as his Panthers beat Herman's Cardinals, 30-6 (I wish I could remember the exact number of tackles Chris made, but let's just say that HE MADE A TON). On the other hand... Herman lost. But, as we always do in the Elias Sports Managment family, even though a loss was had, we always remember to celebrate the fortunate opportunity we have to get out there and fullfill our dreams. So after the game, I took Herman and his girlfriend, Brandy, out to dinner, along with my Mother, Aunt and Brother. We broke bread, had a good visit, and finally called it a night after spending a couple relaxing hours with each other.

This blogger - who titled his post "Randall Gay (who's my client) = Pwned" - OBVIOUSLY doesn't deserve to be using the Internet. Click the following link to see WILLIAM Gay get PWNED by Adrian Peterson. It really is pretty brutal - OUCH. http://sunnysideofmars.blogspot.com/2009...
For those who don't quite understand just how ridiculously HUGE this news is, lemme just say this... There are people in the great state of Louisiana who would rather the Chancellor of LSU visit their home on a Sunday afternoon for some good conversation and a few Tobasco drenched meat pies than they would their own state Governor. THAT'S how much of a big deal this dude is.

I looked you up earlier this morning, Albert. I was just making a bad joke about JaMarcus, sorry. Also - for a few minutes I thought you were the sports statistics guys but then I realized my mistake.
