I have been avoiding updating frequently like it was the plague. Granted I have not had much in terms of updates lately anyway. - Rob Diana
Sorry Shey. That's the 3rd time my site has done that. It's easy to fix in the Dreamost web panel, but annoying as all get-out, and I don't know what is causing it. Fixed (for) now. - Phil Glockner
wow. Death by blogging. Scary stuff there! - Tim Hoeck
Sorry I didn't link up any articles, but yeah some big names a few months ago, Tim. With my opinion posts I've decided to be light on the linkage and heavy on the pondering. - Phil Glockner
By the way, what do you guys think? Too many commas? You won't hurt my feelings. - Phil Glockner

Ha! I just left a comment on YOUR blog, Steven! - Phil Glockner
Well done - Dave Peck
here and there, esp with some of the introductory phrases, i think you could lose a comma or two. but overall i think the comma use is appropriate and good. i didn't skim/read the whole thing with an eagle eye, but i did not see any comma splices. comma splices make me cringe and want to stop reading. - edythe
Thanks edythe. Give me an example of a comma splice? I guess I could check Wikipedia... - Phil Glockner
Please don't kill (blog) yourself OK ! Nice post... very thought provoking. Obviously, finding the right "balance" in terms of blogging frequency is most important for you and your readers. - Susan Beebe
@J. Phil - a comma splice is when you throw a comma into a sentence where you should have either a semi-colon or period. Eg: "John just stood in the doorway, he didn't really want to leave." Should be two sentences or a semi-colon at the very least. - Nathaniel Payne
Haha no worries Susan. I love blogging, and it isn't my 9 to 5 job. - Phil Glockner
I really enjoyed the thinking behind it.. issues many of us deal with frequently. But since you asked: yes, too many commas. also, it's "once in a while" not "once and a while." ;p - Anthony Citrano
Anthony, thanks. You just nailed one of my common mistakes. I always do that! I'll go fix it. And I did re-jigger the commas, I got rid of a good number of them. - Phil Glockner
A comma splice is simply when you throw a comma in where it shouldn't be. Often with comma splices there is no punctuation needed at all. - Shey
adding to what Nathaniel said - a comma splice to me is when you insert a comma where perhaps you might pause in speech but where you definitely do not in writing. e.g., "He uses buzzwords like “change” and “hope”, but does not say that much." [also, i adhere to commas going *inside* the quotes!!] - edythe
