Will Smith is a Con Man in First Trailer for Ficarra & Requa's 'Focus' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
"I can convince anyone of anything." Following the first look photos this morning, the first trailer for Will Smith's latest film Focus has arrived. The film is directed by Crazy Stupid Love filmmaking duo John Requa & Glenn Ficarra, and they seem to be injecting the romance from that film into the world of deception. Smith plays a con man who takes a beautiful woman (Margot Robbie) under his wing, but while he's turning her into a great con artist, he's also falling for her. That complicates things when she has to use her sexuality to help pull off a big job. It doesn't look bad, but also doesn't seem remarkable. Watch? Here's the first trailer for Glenn Ficarra & John Requa's Focus from YouTube: Focus is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa (Crazy Stupid Love, I Love You Phillip Morris). The film follows a professional conman (Will Smith) and someone just learning the criminal art (Margot Robbie of ...

'Perks of Being a Wallflower' Writer & Director Believes 'Santa Is Real' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
After making his directorial debut by adapting his own book The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the multi-talented Stephen Chbosky is heading into different territory with the inspiring tale Santa is Real. The film is based on a forthcoming book by Charles E. Hall & Bret Witter called Santa Claus Is for Real: A True Christmas Fable About the Magic of Believing, the true story of Hall, an actor who plays Santa Claus in Radio City's world-famous Christmas Spectacular. What makes the story so incredible is that hall was a struggling actor just trying to save his career, but more importantly, landing the role actually saved his life. Here's the official synopsis of the book: Every year, over a million people attend the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, where they have the pleasure of seeing Charles Edward Hall don a traditional red suit and become the world's most famous Santa Claus—a role he has played for twenty-seven straight years. But Hall wasn’t always such ...

Tom Hanks & Ron Howard's 'Inferno' Moving Away from 'Star Wars' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
Towards the end of August, we heard that Tom Hanks and Ron Howard were teaming up again very soon to bring Dan Brown's symbologist and accidental adventurer Robert Langdon back to the big screen in Inferno. This time the character from Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code suddenly wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, forcing him to team up with Dr. Sienna Brooks to help recover his memories in order to prevent some psychopath from unleashing a global plague that is somehow tied to the classic Dante's Inferno. The film was previously set for a late 2015 release, but now it's been delayed almost a year. The Wrap reports that Sony Pictures, who previously had set Inferno for release on December 18th, 2015, is a little scared of an indie sci-fi flick called Star Wars: Episode VII, and has now pushed the film back to October 14th, 2016. That's quite a big delay for a film that ...

"We can't go against that guy. We're nerds!" It's time for New York Comic-Con, and hot on the heels of the first teaser trailer for Brad Bird's sci-fi adventure Tomorrowland, we have a sizzle reel for Disney's animated comic book adventure Big Hero 6. It really just plays like another trailer, complete with what sounds like a new, unreleased Fall Out Boy song. This time we get some more action with Baymax and the rest of the makeshift superhero team voiced by Damon Wayans Jr., T.J. Miller and more. This looks fun as hell, and we can't wait to see how Marvel's comic book creation takes off in animated form. Watch below! Here's the NYCC sizzle reel for Disney's Big Hero 6 straight from Walt Disney Animation Studios: Big Hero 6 is co-directed by Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt) with a script that Jordan Roberts (3,2,1...Frankie Go Boom) co-wrote with the former. Based on the comic book series ...

Must Watch: Britt Robertson & George Clooney Find 'Tomorrowland' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
"What if there was a place, a secret place, where nothing was impossible?" We've been waiting for a first glimpse at Brad Bird's sci-fi adventure Tomorrowland for awhile, and the teaser trailer has finally arrived. Britt Robertson finds herself able to travel to some incredible world from tomorrow by touching a mysterious pin that looks like it came straight from Disneyland. It's just a teaser trailer, and we only get a glimpse at the sci-fi world in action, but it's a pretty great tease for what's to come next summer. You can bet that pin (which is being handed out at NYCC right now) is going to be a hot commodity. Watch below now! Here's the teaser trailer for Brad Bird's Tomorrowland straight from Disney: Tomorrowland is directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) who co-wrote the script with Damon Lindelof (Star Trek Into Darkness, Prometheus). Universal Builds 'Dad's Army' with Bill Nighy & Catherine Zeta-Jones - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
The man who brought Johnny English to the United States from across the pond is back with a big screen adaptation of a classic British sitcom. Dad's Army is a series that ran on BBC from 1968 to 1977, taking place during World War II in 1944 as the Allies are poised to invade France and finally defeat the German army. And now Deadline reports director Oliver Parker is working on a feature film adaptation of the show with an impressive cast that includes Bill Nighy in the lead with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Toby Jones, Tom Courtenay and Michael Gambon. All of these actors in a UK comedy? Sounds good to me. In what sounds like a British version of Sgt. Bilko, the film follows the Home Guard (volunteers ineligible for military service) in Walmington-on-Sea with the mission of patrolling the Dover army base as a way to raise their spirits. Shaking things up is the arrive of a lovely journalist named ...

'Neighbors' Writers Set Up Slasher Horror Comedy 'Thrill Ride' at Fox - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
The writing and producing duo of Andrew Jay Cohen & Brendan O'Brien delivered one hell of a great comedy this past summer with Neighbors, starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. Now the two are poised to make their feature film directorial debut with a horror comedy called Thrill Ride. This time, Cohen and O'Brien didn't write the script, with Peter Warren (who will also produce the film) working on the pages, and this sounds like a really cool idea. Described as being in the same vein as Scream and This is The End, the story takes place at a theme park where students from a nearby high school start dying elaborately. Deadline says the film begins at a cruel high school where bullying is just something that gets ignored. The seniors are planning their annual party night by renting out an amusement park for the class, and that's where they all end up in extreme danger as the exits are sealed ...

Paul Feig Talks 'Ghostbusters' Reboot, Doesn't Want to Ruin Originals - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
News just hit yesterday that the all-female Ghostbusters reboot from The Heat and Bridesmaids director Paul Feig was officially coming together with writer Katie Dippold taking on scripting duties. Now Feig has taken the time to chat with EW about the highly scrutinized developing project where he does a little bit of damage control for fans who are outraged that this project is even happening, and also explains what he hopes to accomplish with the film that will have no ties to the original films at all. In addition, he also wants to have the film actually be scary, something that the original Ghostbusters accomplishes pretty damn well. First off, Feig doesn't think that an all-female cast is a gimmick at all: I just don’t understand why it’s ever an issue anymore. I’ve promoted both 'Bridesmaids' and 'The Heat' and myself and my cast are still hit constantly with the question, 'will this answer the question of whether women can be funny?' I ...

Watch: Patrick Wilson Has a Crazy Night in 'Stretch' Red Band Trailer - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
After being suddenly delayed earlier this year, Universal Pictures is releasing Joe Carnahan's comedic action thriller Stretch on VOD this coming weekend. Kicking things off with a red band that was approved by "your mama" and an upbeat tune from the Ferris Bueller's Day Off soundtrack, this is one wacky trailer for what promises to be an equally crazy movie from director Joe Carnahan, who has apparently promised to refund your money himself if you don't like the movie. It's a very weirdly cut trailer, with some annoying sound editing, and just a list of all the craziness that you'll see. But is it enough to get people to watch? Here's the weird red band trailer for Joe Carnahan's Stretch from the film's YouTube page: Watch the first trailer for Joe Carnahan's wacky thriller Stretch right here. Stretch is written and directed by Joe Carnahan (of Narc, Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, The Grey previously) from a story by Carnahan, Jerry Corley & Rob ...

First Look: Will Smith & Margot Robbie in Requa & Ficarra's 'Focus' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2014...
It feels like it's been forever since we've seen Will Smith in his own movie, but in actuality, he just hasn't done anything memorable. In the last two years, he's led Men in Black 3 and After Earth, both movie with their fair share of problems that people have mostly forgotten by now. Otherwise, he had small roles in Winter's Tale and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. But coming early next year, he's starring in Focus from Crazy Stupid Love writing and directing duo Glenn Ficarra & John Requa. Now the first photos from the film, also featuring Margot Robbie, have emerged online, and a trailer shouldn't be far behind. Here's the first photos from Glenn Ficarra & John Requa's Focus from USA Today: Focus is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa (Crazy Stupid Love, I Love You Phillip Morris). The film follows a professional conman (Will Smith) and someone just learning the criminal art (Margot Robbie of The ...
