Poster Posse's Last Round of Wild 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Posters - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
Yesterday we featured a round of stunning posters created by the talented artist's who partook in paying tribute to this summer's forthcoming blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road over at Poster Posse. There were some incredible contributions that we highlighted, and today comes the second and final phase of their artwork releases with even more gorgeous work. Tom Hardy is prominently featured, but so are the orange desert landscapes and warm colors. It's a shame that real movie posters can't look like these pieces nowadays. There's absolutely no reason artists can't be hired to create the posters for movie studios. Look! Here's just some of the Mad Max: Fury Road posters from Poster Posse: You can still watch the latest trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road right here. Mad Max: Fury Road is a reboot of the adventure franchise that began with Mad Max in 1979, starring Mel Gibson. George Miller, the director of the original film and its sequel, is back behind the ...

Daniel Craig is Armed & Fashionable on First 'Spectre' Teaser Poster - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
We've been keeping up with the production of Spectre, the latest adventure for Daniel Craig as James Bond, with production diaries and more, straight from the set overseas. And even though the film doesn't arrive until this fall, Sony Pictures has revealed the first teaser poster for 007's next mission. It's nothing special, since it just shows Craig armed and looking dashing, but it's still pretty early in production, so they probably don't want to give anything else away. However, if you look at the lower right hand corner of the film, we do get confirmation that Spectre will be released on IMAX screens when it arrives in November. Here's the teaser poster for Sam Mendes' Spectre from the official 007 Twitter: Check out all the latest on Spectre, including production diaries and more, right here. See Even More Amazing 'Eyes Without a Face' Art by Jason Edmiston - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
A few weeks ago we ran a post featuring some of the artwork from Canadian artist Jason Edmiston that he made for a show Mondo is hosting called "Eyes Without a Face". It features prints created by Edmiston in 3:1 aspect ratio, inspired by the field of vision of a standard rearview mirror in a car, showing only the eyes of pop culture characters of all kinds. It's an amazing, amazing show with some incredible work and tons of favorites. If I had the money, I would've bought a few of these. And the originals are now on sale via Mondo for those who do have the cash. In addition to the batch we featured a few weeks ago, I've tossed up a few other favorites from the show this weekend (including the Medusa one that involves a mirror). Take a look! Here are some of my recent favorites including: Batman + Bane, Jaws, Sully, Totoro and Caesar, of course. Here's the ...

Check Out Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs Promoting the NeXT - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
Earlier this year, we got a look at one of the sets for Steve Jobs, the film about the iconic technology innovator and co-founder of Apple Computers. Director Danny Boyle was using the real garage that Jobs created Apple in along with his right hand man Steve Wozniak, and it was made to look just as it did decades ago. However, with the exception of some spy photos from production on-location in California, we've yet to get a good look at Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs. But now we have one glimpse of the actor in the role in the form of a vintage promotional poster that has him promoting Apple's NeXT line of computers. This poster surfaced online, likely from another on-location set (via The Playlist): #michaelfassbender A photo posted by @seannung on Mar 16, 2015 at 4:29pm PDT Steve Jobs is directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) and written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, ...

Stephen King Has Seen 'Crimson Peak' Early and Absolutely Loved It - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
So far we've only seen a teaser trailer and some first look photos from Guillermo del Toro's anticipated gothic horror flick Crimson Peak. We don't have much to go on yet, but it looks pretty damn creepy, the kind of horror film that usually doesn't get made anymore. And now we have an idea of just how scary it might be. It seems del Toro had an early screening of his film and shared it with some of his friends in the horror business, specifically the master of suspense Stephen King, and he had some exciting praise for the film. Also in attendance and saying kinds words was King's son Joe Hill, also a respected horror writer. Here's what Stephen King had to say about Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak from Twitter: Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro's new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Kimmel & McConaughey Make a Commercial for Austin's Vulcan Video - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
"We're a video store in 2015..." This is amazing!! One of the best Jimmy Kimmel sketches I've ever seen. With SXSW ongoing down in Austin, even Jimmy Kimmel is down in Texas and they just premiered one of their first shows taped there last night. As part of the promotion, they reached out to local Austin business to find one that they could work with and make a brand new commercial for. Which one did they choose? Vulcan Video, one of the few remaining (kick ass) video rental stores based in Austin, Texas. If you're ever in Austin, you have to check them out. But in the meantime, this segment they make for them is absolutely hilarious. To top it off they brought in Matthew McConaughey (with gnarly beard) and he is just perfect. Here's the entire segment from last night's Jimmy Kimmel, with an introduction and everything. So good. Description from YouTube: "Before our trip to Austin, Jimmy posted a tweet ...

Watch: Ruairi Robinson's 'The Leviathan' Proof-of-Concept Teaser - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
"By the early 22nd century mankind had colonized many worlds..." This is awesome. We've been following Irish director Ruairi Robinson for quite some time, as he was once attached to the Akira movie (see his concept art), made that fantastic robot short Blinky, and his first feature was the sci-fi Last Days on Mars (which I wasn't a big fan of, but oh well). His latest project, or at least one of them in the works, is called The Leviathan and a proof-of-concept short teaser has just debuted online. It has kind of a Dune meets Pacific Rim vibe, with a group of "involuntary" hunters out capturing a giant flying alien beast to harvest its eggs. I love the camera work in this, and I really want to see the rest of the movie right away. Join the hunt. The rest of the introduction at the beginning states (via Vimeo): "Faster than light travel was made possible by harvesting exotic matter ...

Addiction Hits Hard in Red Band Trailer for 'Heaven Knows What' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
Drug addiction has been explored countless times on the big screen, but we may have never seen a story so grimy, brutal and intense as what seems to be on display in the red band trailer for Heaven Knows What. Directed by Josh & Benny Safdie, this film looks like a raw glimpse into the true story of a young woman who lived an unbelievable life addicted to drugs on the streets of New York City. The trailer itself is a bit trippy, giving just a taste of what the film might be like to experience as we follow Harley (Arielle Holmes acting out her real-life story) and her harrowing addiction. This one could be really hard to actually watch. Here's the red band trailer for Josh & Benny Safdie's Heaven Knows What from Radius-TWC: Heaven Knows What is directed by Josh & Benny Safdie (Lenny Cooke, Daddy Longlegs), who co-wrote the script with Ronald Bronstein. Oscar-Nominated Short 'The Dam Keeper' Being Made Into Feature - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
Every year at the Academy Awards, there are always a number of delightful surprises in the Shorts sections – between both animation and live-action. While I do love Patrick Osborne's Feast, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Short, the other four nominees are just as worthy. One of those other nominees is a short called The Dam Keeper, made by two former Pixar employees (Robert Kondo & Daisuke Tsutsumi) who started their own studio called Tonko House. While their animated short didn't win, it is still worth watching, and the good news is that the characters have been given a chance to continue beyond the short. Tonko has licensed rights to make two graphic novels at First Second, and expand the story into a feature. There aren't many details available about the feature version, with Variety only saying that the "filmmakers have also announced plans" for a feature version. The first of the graphic novels will be out in 2016, with ...

Fox Moving 'Fantastic Four 2' Away from 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' - http://www.firstshowing.net/2015...
Following yesterday's news that Star Wars: Episode VIII would arrive on May 26th, 2017, bringing the sci-fi saga back to summer where it belongs, 20th Century Fox made a smart decision to move one of their blockbusters out of the way. Though Fantastic Four 2 wasn't hitting theaters until June 2nd, 2017, the studio wants to give Disney (and themselves) another week of box office breathing room by moving the comic book sequel back one week to June 9th, 2017. It's not a big move, but one extra week will give more people time to see Episode VIII without harming the box office gross of Fantastic Four 2, so it's a good call.
