"Unless you're running a script that processes huge amounts of data (like parsing a log and taking the correct action) this kind of difference isn't going to make much of a....well, difference. Keeping code clean, concise, and well laid out will do wonders in the long run over tweaking a few extra milliseconds off of execution time.
