"Great stuff as always Jamie. Thanks for pointing out my post about consultants. I’ve seen so many organizations fail in many areas because they’ve forgotten (or never knew) how to be human."

"Hey Elliot - great point. I've been in many meetings where someone in a leadership position mentions "we should do X". Then for some unknown reason, they believe that "X" is being doing and will be delivered soon. You want someone to work on something, make it a formal request with proper planning. thanks for stopping by!"

"I like the droid. Bought one Friday. Why? Three Reasons: 1.) I'm a geek. 2.) Android 2.0 3.) Verizon's network. I'd take an iPhone in a second over the Droid....if it was on Verizon."

"Great stuff David. I like your 'three things'...listen/consult, tailor, add value. Great way to describe what a consultant does. How many times have you seen a consultant come into an organization with "the answer" and never really do anything significant for the organization? unfortunately, I've seen it happen many times and people can't understand it because the consultant (or consultants) knew what needed to be done. No consultant can walk in off the street with the answer. They need to understand the organization, the business, the people and then help create a solution that works for that organization."

"Hey Danny - Thanks for stopping by. Right on. A consultant should be someone who can bring a human voice back to business and you'll be headed in the right direction."

"Agreed Gene. You know this but I'll tell ya anyway - my issue is with those consultants that deliver a solution before knowing the problem. Of course we need consultants (heck...I made my living in the past as one...and may move back into a consulting role in the future)."

"Hi Elliot - Glad to help you find more things to read. You are right....the act portion always points back to plan to complete the full feedback loop. Enjoy the book :)"

"Fontaine - I'm glad you are having good luck with BluDomain...but telling multiple people that they aren't getting emails from them is ridiculous. The company has problems as seen from the many many many complaints about them. Don't take my word for it...do a search around the web and you'll see there are many more people with the same problems with BluDomain."

"I think the MSIS plan is the right way to go. You have to take the courses anyway so why not get a MS along the way. I don't think tuition should be a problem...they are a brick and mortar institution that is used to accepted GI Bill and other government payments. Let me know how it goes."

"Hi Clare - thanks for the new lens for looking at linear thinking. In my past, I've found linear thinking to be very restrictive but you've given me some things to think about. Thanks for stopping by."

"Great thoughts. The key for IT departments everywhere is to cooperate with others as well as to communicate with others. This communication helps every to understand the real driving factors behind what the business wants/needs to do."
