I really can't believe that the state of the art on learning about XMPP is still: read the RFC, or buy a book.
Wow, so many "REST" APIs aren't REST at all. Why bother even calling it RESTful? Just call it "our HTTP API".
@BenWard Republicans.
@jacobian Yes, it was extremely easy. I set my instance up in about 30 mins starting with zero knowledge. Got Git+GitHub integration, etc.
@kumar303 I see that you did, and I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. Oh well, people will do what they do, I guess :)
@brettsky Ahh, thanks, I found the reasoning: "To use Hudson, you need the JVM. Now you have two problems..." http://lists.idyll.org/piperma...
Wow, Hudson is amazing software. Easy to set up, lots of plugins, Just Works™. Why are Python dudes working on pony-build? Java hate?
@Scobleizer Of developer communities I'm interested in, at least: @brosner/django @edcrypt/python @ericflo/cassandra @ericflo/tech-sf

Haha, OK, everyone hates LDAP (at least @codysacoder @flangy @dreid @etrepum @IanMLewis @acdha do)
@joestump They're like blogs, everyone writes their own. I've written two.
Interesting. A reminder that LDAP is an oft-overlooked, mature, scalable non-relational database. Good point! http://debasishg.blogspot.com/2009...
This Adobe "open government" thing is a pretty good way to make our government even less savvy: http://www.adobe.com/opengov/
@dannyroa I dunno about sandbox vs. app, but apparently it only happens for some users (probably due to privacy controls).
@dannyroa The objects returned from users.getInfo are (apparently) no longer guaranteed to have any particular keys.
@dannyroa No, I mean, you specify what you want, but that's not necessarily what you'll get. KeyErrors FTW!
Hey Facebook, thanks for subtly changing the way you respond to API requests, it broke several of my projects all at once.
@ledil Sorry those slides didn't last, next time I give a lightning talk like that I'll make sure to keep the slides around.
@alex_gaynor I clearly want my ponies, by definition. But I'd rather have all mine denied if my anti-ponies get denied too.
Nailed it! http://jacobian.org/writing... I'd rather have most of my ponies denied than everyone else's accepted.
@johnboxall You, sir, are in need of a generator expression.
Oh no, something just went haywire in my codes!
I hope people who double-click on form submit buttons know how annoying it is for us web developers to cope with it.
Reading through the upcoming Facebook changes, it turns out they're actually quite a bit worse than I originally thought. :(
