"I think having open comment threads around every post and content that comes from us solves this problem well. It keeps the attention on the post at hand and opens the door to get in touch if its relevant. Putting comments elsewhere may be confusing if its not a two way dialogue."

"There is not native support for exchange I don't think but it works so seamlessly that it almost doesn't matter. re: cloud storage: This is an issue across multiple services so it depends (crappy answer I know) In my case its Facebook and Gmail storing the data so therein is the trust. If they go down, we go down. Not sure about computer sync. Native media - video recorded looks good and plays back well. Having background tasks running is a big bonus - but also a big battery drain."

"The goal is hopefully to have someone understand our focus, then have the lowest barrier possible to get in touch. You are right in that a form with 10-20 questions would filter down and put someone\company into a pre-determined mold, but sometimes this is not always possible. While some may love to fill out a form and check boxes, it deters others. By providing dynamic information about the portfolio companies themselves it gives even more insight into those you "have not yet met". You can see latest issues on their minds (blog), opportunities (jobs), and activities (twitter feeds) and therefore would have a much better understanding of who is behind the organization and who, when, and where to get in touch with them. This is how the new USV helps you meet people you would have not otherwise met."

"Just filled this out - results are getting very interesting. Great way to slice up reader demographic data and see who is reading AVC. I wonder how many lurkers are filling this out - folks who never comment but are happy to click through a decision tree."
