Backpacks distribute weight better and more comfortably for longer rides or commutes; messenger bags excel for errand runs that include multiple stops. That’s why, I’m told, messengers use them. Writing and editing reviews for Rodale's MountainBike.com years ago gave me the opportunity to try lots of gear, and I’ve used high-quality messenger bags from Manhattan Portage and Timbuk2, among others. It's a tough field. Most of what's in this category is a solid buy. But Chrome bags stand out. Chrome’s Metropolis is at least as durable as its competitors, but with better attention to details, my favorite of which is a ’70s-era seatbelt buckle connecting the main strap. It seems gimmicky but it's not. The buckle strap closure means you don’t have to heave a loaded bag all the way over your head -- just unbuckle, pull the strap over your shoulder and rebuckle. It’s as fun as it is utilitarian. Chrome's Metropolis is expensive, and well worth the price if you live car-light and don't use a...

- Germain Saval
@Germain : backtype - seul plugin à la hauteur à ce jour ;)

Introducing: the journalist of the future : This combines the technical skills the new journalist will need (plus the old ones), new ways of collaborating with audiences and journalists across the globe; and most importantly an entrepreneurial edge to create an army of “creative entrepreneurs”....

Jeff is so committed to customer-centricity and efficiency, I wish he could occupy a portion of every US company's brain. Get the culture and customer relationship right, have a solid financial model and consistent product and communication delivery, and business growth has huge potential. No magic to it, yet so many companies fail at these basics. And those basics are scaleable. If you...

Has the saturation been turned up all the way on some of these photos? EDIT: I read the Linkinn comments and others call Photoshop too.

That is excellent. The best service I ever get is when an airline finds my bags and returns them via limo van. They do have "service" in them... they are capable.

I personally think it is a theft racket. There SHOULD be a 99.342% chance that you and your luggage will, eventually, find one another. That there are businesses set up to deal with lost luggage should throw up red flags. Do these companies trade on the stock market? Will their profit have to keep going up and up? Will more and more luggage have to be lifted, to satisfy market demands?

great point ... i'd take an increase in the insured value ... at least inflation-index it ...

If one pays extra for the service of checking a bag, then the airline should be required to guarantee the delivery of that bag to your ultimate destination before or upon your arrival. The whole concept of charging to check a bag is a gimmick by the airlines -- an excuse for their own poor planning and inept operational performance. All of them performed better when the industry was regulated!

Cool colors. I've just started shooting butterflies myself and it's a lot of fun. Probably shoot 10-20 pictures with closed wings just to get one with the wings open. The colors are different one each side though, so I'd love to see other pictures of the same butterfly.

The Palos Verdes Blue butterfly is a small endangered butterfly native to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwest Los Angeles County, California. As its distribution has been proven to be limited to one single site it has one of the best claims to being the world's rarest butterfly.
- Mitchell Tsai
The Palos Verdes blue butterfly was thought to be driven to extinction in 1983 by development of its habitat (Mattoni 1995). Then, in 1994, the butterfly was rediscovered by Rick Rogers, Rudy Mattoni, and Timothy Dahlum at the Defense Fuel Support Point in San Pedro, which is located on the northern (inland) side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. This new population lays eggs on a...
