Watching NCIS re-runs and I finally decided to google Cote de Pablo. I tell Mom, "She's from Chile!" and some other bits from Cote's IMDB profile. Mom stares at me amazed. "You found all that on the computer?!?" - http://www.imdb.com/media...

sorry, no. a long-ass fishing pier at the edge of Auckland harbour in 1997. moments after this photo was taken a freak storm blew in and nearly washed us all off into the freezing water.

Ya know, AUCKLAND, that's on the tip of my tongue....I HAD IT, WHY COULDN'T I REMEMBER IT?

I am finding this works best in Safari 4. Chrome can't handle it and Firefox 3.5 locks up after 1/2 hour or so with script failures.

If one of your feeds is going too fast, you can adjust the settings. For example, at times, I use "comments:1 likes:1 friends:lph" in the second one ... this slows things down a bit.

I learned VAX FORTRAN in college. I think it was a required course though for the life of me I can't now understand why. I was a psyc major!
- pea ♥ fierce as a woozle
It probably says something about my personality that all I've ever learned are niche languages... GFA Basic (interesting to note that someone has a Win32 port up on Google Code) and Coldfusion, which I guess is more of scripting language, really.
- Roger Benningfield
Wow, that takes me back. Pascal was the first "real" language I tried to learn as a kiddie. Notice I say tried...first real language I really learned was C.
- Neal Jansons
I have heard good things about Ruby.

*Shudder* Brings back horrible high school Computer Science memories. I had this teacher named Colonel Warr (not kidding, he was in the military previously) and he and I would constant get in arguments because I was a snotty 16 year computer whiz and he was an aging dork who didn't even like Windows. I don't know how many times I got put out in the hall. :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Hrm...I can't remember what language they "taught me" in high school computer science. I don't think it was Pascal...but no way it was C or Java...interesting that I don't remember
- Rahsheen ™, Coach of FF
Much to the displeasure of my teacher, my introduction screens code were about 5 times longer than my actual code...
- Johnny Worthington
lol Sean, that was 7th grade for me. There was a "computer literacy" class, which was mandatory. Sort of a "introduction to cursors" kind of thing. Mrs. Hardesty and I didn't get along at all, but the computer lab's network was quite friendly. :p

I learnt BASIC when at school and Turbo Pascal at college. I wish I knew SQL now as every job seems to want that or Java(script).
- Kol Tregaskes
Ok. This is just weird. What makes you think that this is a good idea?

1997, and it was just to find and chat with my future husband, didn't know then that it would change all my life

1984. (Might have been 1983.) I'm really old.

1979. My dad volunteered to run a new department at his University. It was a new computer department running a DEC PDP 1134. Not long after we were connecting a dumb terminal to our analog phone at home to dialIn to access his mainframe at the school. I was 10. Dad's a blogger now and never has lost touch with technology. :-)

1994, with a super fast 9600 baud modem. With the incredible Trumpet software providing a solid SLIP connection. 100hr/month for 25$ ! Holy shit, I was RICH than!

1991 at college, U of C had an awesome internet setup. ran my first web server on a mac IIci running AUX in '94.

1992/3 - I was forced to learn it so I could teach using it. I remember sitting at a 486 reading while I waited for a page to load, so I could plan how to use it in class. Luckily the college provided tutorials and I had IT-smart friends. I fell in love with the computer & web and wrote my PhD thesis about that (ongoing) adventure - http://www.scribd.com/doc...

1996? Whenever AOL went unlimited and it usually took hours to connect. I remember being as excited as a kid at Christmas when it finally connected!
- Josh Begin
When I was 10 I remember my dad bringing me to his work on a weekend and setting me up in front of a computer because I kept hearing something about a Cleveland Indians website on the radio. I begged him to take me back to work everyday after that.

Think a few people here are referring to ARPAnet and/or online services?? 1993 ... Launched my first company (with it's own URL 1995)

Kevin - You're not old. 300 baud Compuserve ... text ... WOW!

Officially 1994. We used networked computers in the DoD in the 70s, but I was totally away from any web after that until '94. PCs were a shock to my system.
- Jack (a.k.a. Jeber)
'93 using an amateur radio modem. '96 for AOL using a Performa 400 (no web, just used AOL chats/email and telnet) and text-based web at the library. I think '98 before I was using a graphic web interface.
- Alix Whitmire
1997 but just in 1998 I have access to it with my first computer.

1997, I was 14 years old. My brother bought a computer and it came with an AOL Trial.

when i was about 10 years old in 4th grade on AOL...took my best friend and I about 45 mins to figure out you needed to plug a telephone cord into the computer lol. (about 1996-97)

1994 - it was all about AOL, web crawler, geocites ......I always thought how this thing, the internet, was going to get faster in the future..at that time I was 12.
- iTbay
Early 80's. There was only hosted chat rooms and it was all text and ascii art. I think MedDirec and the Green Door was a couple of them and I think some universities were toying with email. You really had to know protocol to get 1200 baud out of the modems. I came up with the idea to put a toggle switch on the front of the box instead of bridging the pins on the motherboard to go from...

I never saw a squirrel in real life until I came to the US for college, and Stanford is overrun with black squirrels. I thought black squirrels were really common.

There are lots of black squirrels in the Bronx and southern Westchester.
- Morton Fox
And they are moving north. Never saw them in northern Westchester until last year.
- Bill Scherer
Lots of them here too, in Québec, Canada. (Montréal region)
- Éric Senterre
lots recently in stamford ct - just noticed them this spring though
- mike "glemak" dunn
I see them every now and again in NYC - mostly in union sq.
- felix
I've never seen one of those. Looks like a skunk missing its stripe.
- Trish R
It's interesting that in England they're already considered a threat to other squirrels (from http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...): "today there are more than two million grey squirrels and just a few hundred reds living in a handful of places - and now the black squirrel represents the same kind of threat to the grey as the impact of the grey on the red."
- Michal Cierniak
And what's your method ? My wife needs a good tip for that!
- Éric Senterre
My problem was that I'd feel one of my nails was a bit rough and decide to "tidy it up" with my teeth. Seconds later, I'd have bitten the whole thing off. I now keep a nail file handy and use that instead. Seems to have worked so far.

@Justin, Please check whether you have v0.4 or v0.3
- Sudar
@Sudar - I confirmed it says I have v0.4 activated: "Post to FriendFeed 0.4 Publish an entry to FriendFeed of your blog post with images and excerpt. By Sudar. Active". I'll try to get some screen shots for you when I get a chance.
- Justin Korn
PS. I'm still on WP 2.5, not sure if that makes a difference

Nice stuff, just sad that my photoblog is on PixelPost! :-]
- Éric Senterre
@Justin, The WordPress version doesn't have anything to do with it. If possible send me a screenshot and it will be really helpful to solve the issue. My email is sudar@sudarmuthu.com. Thanks!
- Sudar
@Sudar - the plugin doesn't seem to work when you publish to the future. I created 2 posts yesterday, one for immediate publishing and one for this morning, the immediate one showed up here, while the other did not after 2 hours of being published. You may see it in my stream, but that is due to me manually posting it. Any ideas? Thanks again for this plugin.
- cmiper
@cmiper, I am looking into the issue now and will let you know once I have fixed it.
- Sudar
@cmiper - it's a known thing have same "problem" althogh I rarely schedule posts.
- Phill Price
Thanks Sudar and Phill, it was the first time since using the plugin that I had pre-posted, good to know. ;-)
- cmiper
@cmiper, @Phill, I have released a new version of the Plugin which supports scheduled posts. More details at http://friendfeed.com/e...
