I don't know about a Flash-killer. It's a different focus than Flash/Silverlight. - Paul Reynolds
looks very interesting, though the name sounds more like an angry vegan music genre - Benton
Enough with the "killers" flash has become the standard, good or bad) no one will develop for anything else unless the new one is light years ahead of Flash. - Mike Wills
I think the timeline aspect of Flash shouldn't be forgotten. But when focusing purely on RIAs they do have a point when it comes to the more open standards of HTML, Javascript, and CSS. - LeMonkey
I think Flash for video is unstoppable, but as an app platform.... I think a combo HJC is best because they are open. - Joe Mac Stevens
Flash (or Silverlight) may dominate, but as Daniel points out in his post on Roughly Drafted, who wants Adobe or Microsoft to own the platform for rich web apps? Market dominance kills innovation. Let's not make that mistake again. Open or nothing. And, by the way, Sproutcore is a fully MVC framework ala Rails, Cocoa, etc. Devs like dat. - Leo Laporte
It also comes down to the IDE for the developer ultimately. Flex Builder and Microsoft's suite of tools may be better than whatever comes from open source. - LeMonkey
I don't see this as a Flash killer. It's a serious application framework for Javascript. - Eric Hamilton
It's just another tool to be used or abused. No one's gonna care if your RIA is open-source if it stinks. Besides I think Flash has video and animation going for it where other frameworks are focusing on only the application development. - Andrew Smith
Wow. This is EXACTLY the wrong direction. The Javascript engine will always be fragile, bug riddedn and inconsistent because it is implemented by many different teams - why rely on it when you don;t have to? Flash / AIR or Silverlight are definitely the way - they INSULATE the developer from browser craziness and versioning issues and have much better access to the OS when the sandbox allows. Apple doesn't do many stupid things - this is one of them. - Soulhuntre

Not another "flash killer"! How do we keep up, is this new "web two point oh"? Help help I'm being eaten alive by buzzwords. - Stuart Forsyth
@Soulhuntre Javascript is a powerful language, partially BECAUSE it's widely implemented. JS is crazy good at objects and glue. - Eric Hamilton
