"Really, I guess it depends on your definition of "KDE4". I was referring mainly to the Plasma desktop experience, which is great by any meaning of the word. If you're talking about all the KDE4 apps that are pulled in when installing a package like kubuntu-kde4-desktop, then, no, KDE4 isn't great."

"It's been shown that the larger an object's on-screen area, the easier it is to access. This is what makes the four corners of a screen the easiest destinations to reach quickly; since the mouse can move no farther than the edge of the screen, the area of the corners is virtually infinite. Same with the screen's edges. Using this program takes away the infinite area of those edges and corners, turning each edge into a one-pixel-thin line and each corner into a one-pixel spot, drastically reducing quick accessibility (and even completely removing it...ever tried to mouse over one very specific pixel?) I won't bury this, simply because someone, somewhere might find it useful (and it looks like a neat little app to play around with), but I'm certainly not going to digg it."

"A few questions: What URL did you visit? That window was "Wine Internet Explorer", and the page looks incredibly similar to a "u have spywarez, download our program!1!shift11!!11" Since when does Windows, let alone Wine, give warnings like "OMG!!!! You have a spywarez!!!"? And why on earth were you browsing the virus-infested 'net with a Windows emulator, of all things?? You should've at least installed antivirus and antispyware proggies into wine before attempting that :P Alright, I'm done :)"

Samba has long been the defacto standard for accessing Windows file shares from Linux. There is also a Samba daemon that shares Linux directories to Windows machines. Proper setup requires you to edit a config file. Enter the GUI solution.

Let's face it: form elements au naturel are NOT pretty. So what do we do with them? We add a border thickness here, a border color there, leaving the whole thing largely unchanged. And still ugly. Time to change that.

"OK, so, aside from "liking it" (Gas companies "like" the current gas prices, too, y'know ;) ), is there any major reason to keep it? Or can a styled span or div do pretty much anything a br might want to?"

If you've installed KDE4, you'll have noticed that the environment insists that you use the "KDE4-ready" apps. Putting the KDE4 apps aside and bringing the older, more familiar versions to the forefront is a simple matter of renaming and symlinking.
