"The Obama administration, signaling a sharp departure from more than 20 years of federal policy, urged Congress on Wednesday to close the gap in prison sentences given to those convicted of dealing crack versus powdered cocaine. Assistant Atty. Gen. Lanny Breuer said the mandatory-minimum sentencing guidelines are so inherently unfair that they have undermined trust in the country's judicial institutions, particularly among minorities who bear the brunt of the law. Currently, it takes 100 times more powdered cocaine than crack cocaine to trigger the same harsh mandatory minimum sentence."

What I haven't seen or read in the article I posted this morning from USA Today: it looks like they were going to reduce crack sentences but after reading this version, it seems they are going for the contrary. Anyone can confirm?
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
I haven't seen anything about a reduction, just that there's no longer going to be such a large discrepancy. For me this is a wait-and-see game. I think the fact that coke dealers tend to be richer is going to negate this anyway.

Note to folks complaining about me "Liking" too much stuff: If you want me to stop, don't post any science or tech-related stuff, don't add as much interesting photography and other images, cease posting anything even vaguely related to current affairs, and don't make as many room posts. ;)
Tyson - because of our interactions, I know you are more than a serial liker. You contribute invaluable information; especially in mobile related topics. FF the way you want, Tyson.

@Jannifer - It was about some folks a while ago who thought I Liked a load of "spammy" (by their metric) or mundane content, and generally filled their feeds to the point that I allegedly drowned others out. Although there are other people who are just as prolific, if not more so here, of course.

There was a debate a while ago about my use of FriendFeed, although the person who started the thread decided to block me (I won't say who to avoid starting a textual fire), so I can't view it again without either logging out, or feeding it to Iterasi.
