Could've sworn Carly Simon did but she denies it. - Akiva Moskovitz
That song was pretty good! Talented guy. - Vincent X
George Kelly wrote one for me on my birthday! If the iPhone had cut and paste, I'd be able to easily link it here for you. - Schlomo Rabinowitz
yes, to the tune of an REM song naturally - Ethan Kaplan
Sure: "The Theme from Shaft. I'm very proud of it. - Chris Baskind
"Oh lord, it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way!" Yup - Tad, Fool
does i hate you die in a sing song way count??? if so, yes! - Mona N.
Uhm...not written, but improvised in a moment of passion...LOL - ♫ Rahsheen™
I'm Henry, your bartending friend; No songs, but there was this girl in AP English who wrote a love poem to me and read it out loud to the class. - RAPatton
Yes but no one ever heard it and, it was silly. Just an ex-boyfriend messing with his guitar and making up different ways to sing my name and add rhymes to it. - Candace Holly
Does it count if I have written songs about myself? - सत्याग्रह [Bren]
Yes... my hubby wrote me a few when we were dating. heh - Daynah
I've had a movie made inspired by me. Does that count? It was a short, and actually got produced with real actors and a director and stuff. An ex-girlfriend wrote and starred in it -- after we broke up -- so I'm not telling you how to find it. - Dan Kaplan
Daynah...are you only here becuase Twitter was down? hahahaha (btw, that song thing? SO super sweet!) @Dan, are you killed off? HA - Mona N.
My boyfriend did...which is probably why he's my husband now. - eve shot first
For $10 I will create a song for anyone and sing it on video - Allen Stern
Mona: She used her interpretation of the end of our relationship as the central metaphor. I wasn't an actual character in the flesh. It was crazy - Dan Kaplan
Isaac Hayes wrote some song about me, but he changed the name so as not to tip anyone off about how cool I was. - ha3rvey
@Allen Stern (allenstern): That's really really cheap advertising! :) I wish I can pay you! Can we find a deal? ;-) - directeur
via NoiseRiver
@directeur - sure just paypal the $10 and answer 20 questions about yourself and I will create a great song - just watch my twitter song for an example of my singing voice :-P - Allen Stern
Wait, we getting paid? If you would like a personalized song, please refer to http://last.fm/music/rahsheen for samples and price can be discussed at a later date...LOL - ♫ Rahsheen™
I'd highly recommend it. I wish I lived close enough to commute using my Segway. As it is, it sits in the office waiting for sunny days and time for quick jaunts around Seattle. - David Geller
It's better to die going home than going to the office... just saying - Yann
its going to be worse for sure, its not easy powering 3G+Wifi+GPS transceivers and drive a 3.5" multi-touch display, but they are claiming +50 hours standby time. - potamus
mine died even on airplane mode from LA to JFK today. SUCK. - Eric Schlissel

3G iPhone needs a single screen to turn on/off services such as 3G, WiFi, GPS, etc. Too many places to go to change them for power management. Maybe even some preset combinations. - Al Degutis
via twhirl
I wonder if a portable solar panel for your attachment will help... :) - imabonehead
my at&t tilt is dead by 1p every day w/o wifi activated - just bt and 3g. i have to keep it plugged in when i'm at the office, home, or the car. battery tech has to catch up. - Seth Long
@Seth That doesn't seem normal to me. I don't always charge my Mogul every day, and we get by. Of course, I'm on Sprint, and I haven't tried to find out lately if Rev A is in my area. If I have a bunch of reminders going, it will occasionally kill itself on the second day. I do have to admit I'm a weird one; it's possible I didn't actually buy the phone so I could make phone calls. - MiɳiMagɘ (Sexy Scimitar)
how many n95 batteries do you carry? I have 2. It's the first phone I've had to buy batteries for - like a camera. Then again, it's much more than a phone - that's a secondary function (at best) for me. - Dean Terry
what we need os a bag with integrated backup battery to do trickle charges for devices - Ethan Kaplan
I thought that Kevin Roses false claim, before the iPhone was even announced, that it would have two batteries was brilliant. One for the phone, the other for everything else. Wonder if that would ever be adopted. - Brian
Oooh, can I be on the T-list, too? I'm tired of being on the Z-list. Oh, wait, I'd actually need to post something, wouldn't I? - MiɳiMagɘ (Sexy Scimitar)
Your argument exhibits a confusion of universals and particulars. The people on the A-list lost their influence, replaced by the people on the other lists. Since the power of the A-list is distributed across all other lists, the B list doesn't automatically gain the influence of the A-list. Let's say the A-list had an influence factor of 100, and the B-list had an influence factor of 75. Let's say there are 19 other lists; when the A-list goes away, its influence is spread across the 20 remaining lists, so the B-list only goes up to 80, still far less influence than the A-list had. Thus, influence becomes more distributed. Thank you, thank you, Mark Trapp the Pedant will be here all week, be sure to tip your waitress! - Mark Trapp
I don't think it is. See my comment on the post that started this in the first place. Too long for even FF. Better metaphor is "this season's sports starts vs. Hall of Famers." The reason no one writes about the death of the D-list is because few people aspire to it or are envious of those on it. :) - Lucretia Pruitt
How can it be dead if so many people are interested in it? Many here seem to obsess over the Techmeme leaderboard. It's straight out of Yogi Berra "nobody ever goes there anymore, it's too crowded" - Robert Seidman
With the A list dead, everyone else moves up one step in rank. - Denton Gentry
Seidman: I used to obsess over the Techmeme leaderboard. Now I obsess over how many likes Allen Stern gives me. - Robert Scoble
Well..if you really strive to say "I'm on the blogging a list" then..alright! I guess that's kind of like saying "I'm famous on the internet." ..doesn't hold a lot of water when you get off the computer, does it? - Candace Holly
Now, seriously. The fact is popularity is a recursive thing. Once you're at it and keep it for a while: you're popular. That doesn't mean that everything you'll say will be "true" but you'll have plenty of "followers" that will "fight" for your ideas. Which in a sense gives a "truth" value for your opinions. That said, I'm not against A-lister. Of course! Just wanted to say that being an A-lister is the fuit of a hard work... - directeur
via NoiseRiver
@Candace - not sure I agree - I think I'd rather be famous on the internet than famous in the tabloids... it means I've got a better (more intelligent?) class of readers! ;) - Lucretia Pruitt
@Lucretia - if you're "famous on the internet" you end up on Valleywag. Same thing. (Yeap, I went there) :D - Candace Holly
Speaking as a member of the Z list, I find that I am quite alive. - Vermyndax
via twhirl
@Candace I disagree. I bet A-Listers have a lot more things they can do when they get off the computer. Who's more likely to be able to vacation on the other side of the planet? An A-Lister or a Z-Lister? Who's more likely to be able to attend a conference on another continent? Seeing more of the world--crossing more water--holds a LOT of water with me. Of course, you can be unlisted and still be well-traveled, but I don't care. - MiɳiMagɘ (Sexy Scimitar)
It's called Kathy Griffith syndrome. Seems to flare up every few months. - Christian Anderson
via fftogo
@LPH we are all on "a list", never sure what the list is though, plus what fun is it to write about people no-one reads or talks about, does every Joe Six-Pack get national news coverage when they drive along the interstate without a seat belt, nope only A-list celebrities get that fun - Justin Yost
Well..let's see..I'm not even on the "z" list. I'm like..negative letters (-z?). I can certainly do all of those things listed above. However, the conferences I attend might have a different subject matter...and are filled with cosplayers and people who don't shower and guys who haven't gotten out of a basement in years...on second thought, I'll stay home. Your last statement sort of summed it up, you follow and pay attention to who you "care" about or rather..who is going to grab your interests. Which is totally cool because that's the beauty of the internet and social networking. - Candace Holly
there's an "a list"? I feel like the kid that missed the ice cream truck. - Susanne "Renee" Bullo
one of the "fonzis" says "Aaayyy", and we talk about the fonzis. Great stuff. Can we to back to everyone posting interesting things again, please? Oh, would one if the fonzis hit the jukebox? We need some music in here. Kthxbye. - BISQ
The new rule for being on the a-list is cutting in line. - Jim Kukral
@Jim - if someone cuts in line, they have to stay in for recess ;) - Candace Holly
I would kill to be on the dead list, oh wait - adolfo foronda
because they're much less self-important and annoying - Ethan Kaplan
With popularity now rapidly becoming associated with your online brand and how active you are in cyberspace, does this mean that the traditional role of a PR manager will soon give way to that of SEO manager/Feed Manager - Tim Hawkins
Twhirl is still pretty good. My boyfriend tried Tweetdeck and, he did not like it. - Candace Holly
Yes, been using it since launch+1, and still using and loving it! - Michael Ramm
that is assuming that one is using Twitter for any amount of time :) but when I do then yes - Steven Hodson
yes...because twhirl keeps bouncing me for some reason... i like t-deck but have the same screen real estate issues that peeps like @cyndy have. plus, i like the more playful look-n-feel of twhirl. but that's just me. - .LAG
Use tweetdeck but prefer twhirl because it gives me Friendfeed and multiple twitter user accounts at the same time. - Alex von Halem
via twhirl
yes I am still using it. I love the grouping feature but I still notice some bugs so that keeps me from using it as my default. I still use Twhirl. Also Tweetdeck doesn't do FF so that make's it tough. - Tac Anderson
Installed Tweetdeck but found the screen real estate issue too distracting for me. Stuck with Twhirl... - Chris Dahl
Yes, tried it, no, not using it. Screenspace + Twhirl is still far more richer in tool set for Twitter. - Duncan Riley
Started using it, now back to twhirl. Just couldn't deal with not being able to dock it. Has some great features though. - Shey
Tried it, but it seemed clunky - far prefer Twhirl and NoiseRiver - I alternate - Cheryl Allin
Given the loss-in-confidence in Twitter, will anything with Twitter as the core backend functionality still pick up? And nope.. I haven't used it yet. - Winston Teo
they'd be stupid if they didn't. or at the very least use their own XMPP pubsub and attach a fucking search engine to it. not rocket science - Ethan Kaplan
congratulations to Merlin and Madeline on the birth of Eleanor (awesome name btw). The mac market share just increased by .000000000000000001% and for that we are thankful! - Ethan Kaplan
