Tabloid dreams of putting the band back together - http://www.escinsight.com/2011...
It always brings out the editorials and column inches when there are hints of a band getting back together, especially when it’s to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. So in the wake of deservedly earning his Ph.D, we asked Dr Paul Jordan to think about this phenomenon and give us the ultimate reunions that would set the UK tabloids alight leading up to Eurovision 2012? - Ewan

The night I arrived I was wandering around the Austin Convention Center, checking out the space, and just happened to be in the Pepsi Lounge corner when Ewan came by to be interviewed by someone else. He graciously consented to be interviewed on the spot – even though he had been traveling close to 24 hours. - Ewan

We once had an all hands here at TechCrunch but it ended after a few minutes because I wanted to go back to my office and do anything else besides be in a meeting. I really hope this doesn’t become a regular thing. - Ewan

If you do nothing else, watch Simon Wardley - http://accmanpro.com/2010...
I am equally cheered by the fact he says that anything that has become a commodity, dependable, predictable and effectively static is something that should be innovated against in the certain knowledge that invested incumbents will protect your endeavours. Given Simon’s research background I have every reason to trust his judgment. - Ewan

I wrote this some time ago and posted it here. Later on, someone posted the entirety of the text to 4chan without my name, and then reddit posted an image of that page. Somewhere along the way the authorship got lost in the shuffle. So to be clear: Yes, I wrote this. No, it’s not a repost from somewhere else. This page is the original source. - Ewan

AT&T CTO claims US leads in mobile. Paging Truth Police? - http://communities-dominate.blogs.com/brands...
So first, Mr John Donovan, CTO of AT&T, the mobile wireless giant. Please respond to the BBC reporter and give her concrete evidence why you - a network operator - think the USA leads in mobile. But yeah, I hear rumbles of a debate coming up! And I'll do a pre-emptive strike into this argument. - Ewan

Festivals Edinburgh- Geek in Residence - http://www.edinburghfestivals.co.uk/geek
Geek-in-residence is a playful term for an exciting new role which will work with the festivals to identify innovation opportunities, build networks and develop projects. It will be a part-time fixed-term contract and will suit a highly-networked individual with extensive and broad digital expertise and an interest in the creative industries and festivals in particular. Availability to travel to Edinburgh is also preferred. - Ewan

Heroes of Eurovision 2010: Peter Nalitch - http://hacksawsworldofmusic.blogspot.com/2010...
[They] just didn't get the wry, dark humour. Rather than seeing it as an intelligent and deadpan post-modern ballad, performed in the style of a late sixties degenerate intellectual student band..."It must be a fix!", some bleated, assuming that it was some localised version of My Lovely Horse, chosen because the Russians didn't want to hold the contest again. "It's boring and depressing!" yet more chimed - and went on to boo their every performance on the big Oslo stage - especially when it was announced that it got through to the final. But what do they know. - Ewan

Why Symbian deserves a second chance - http://www.sparkymat.net/2010...
A lot of changes have happened in the Symbian eco-system since the OS was open-sourced. Here are a few reasons why I think the tech community should give Symbian a second glance, in a world obsessed with apples and droids. - Ewan

So far I've produced a little two-minute training video providing tips on how best to use a small camera device - Flip, Kodak, Vado, or what ever it might be - and we're working on developing some best-practice sessions for journos wanting to use them to file for the web AND - wait for it - maybe in prep for TV. - Ewan
