Local greenhouse - those are new greenhouses, as they lost their previous structures to hurricane Ike last year. Great choices for plants, trees and shrubs in the spring, but the choices wear thin by mid-summer. Be aware that they carry some invasive plants without warnings (bamboo, chocolate vine). - Linda Goin

This makes me sick - http://digg.com/pets_an...
"Hi folks - update to this story. It appears that this is just one of a few dog-fighting rings in this area, and many more dogs will need care. The local shelter is overwhelmed, and statewide resources are slim. Please do what you can by donating to the Mayfield/Graves Co. Shelter at http://www.petfinder.com/shelter.... They have a "donate" button at the top of the page. Make sure you let them know the money is for the pit bulls." - Linda Goin

The Life of American Vagabonds [Pics] - http://www.socialdailynews.com/diverse...
Absolutely stunning set of photographs w/o words. American Vagabonds. From comments at Stumble, they definitely generate some interesting reactions, even anger. How can a set of inanimate photographs engender anger? What if these photos were staged? What if these individuals were rich and made a choice to live this way? What if no one will hire these people because of their choices? Isn't this a free country? How can anyone know the story behind the images enough to judge the photographed subjects without words from these individuals or from the photographer? Like Eudamania, I'm not sure how I feel about the photos, but they did stir emotions in me. I wouldn't say they're vacuous as much as they appear staged, unreal (Surreal?). - Linda Goin
