could anybody describe how to create such a picture? thx - Arnaud Fischer
Arnaud, see http://friendfeed.com/mokarga... for tips. And Josh correct me if I'm wrong, he uploaded to Twitpic the same animated GIF 9 times, then created a friendfeed post and attached all 9 images by URL (instead of choosing images from his hard drive). Images coming from twitpic, soup.io, etc will animate, but photos hosted by friendfeed itself won't. - Micah Wittman

Thanks, Lindsay! :) I think that's the first time someone described wanting to systematically hit me on the head repeatedly, yet have it come off as a compliment. And what a fine one it is! Congrats - Michael Fidler
it'd definitely going to take me a while to get to a million. I'm publishing about 200 photos to flickr a week right now and at this pace it will take 92 years to get there. I'll get the pace up to 400-500 a week in the future though. Better technology should make processing easier and someday my kids will be grown and I'll be able to quit my day job and focus on this even more. The best photos have yet to be taken. - Thomas Hawk
When I think about this I realize your best days are ahead of you. - Russellreno
That is a great photo - Darin aka iGoByDoc
What's your shot/publish ratio? I mean, on average how many shots do you take to produce those you publish? - Yuval Atzmon
atzmon, I probably average about 2,000 shots a week that I shoot. And I'm probably processing 300 or so of those a week at present, so I'm probably keeping about 15%. The other 85% never get processed and are kept in my archives. I'm trying only to process and publish the shots that I think meet a certain quality criteria. - Thomas Hawk
You upload a lot more than I do. I have about 40,000 pictures but only about 2000 uploaded. Mostly because I have not gotten around to processing more. =) - Jauder Ho from twhirl
Wow and Congrats!! - Vox
Dude, you're a machine. - Zee.
Jauder, the good news is that processing will only get easier in the future. I've watched it get better with each successive Adobe release. Lightroom 2.0 is the best processing tool yet. It's not necessarily faster per se though because with more tools there are yet even more ways to tweak a photo hence even more time. But the tools to speed things up are coming too. auto geotagging, better anti dust tech, faster processing speeds, easier online tools with faster broadband are all around the corner. - Thomas Hawk

Ace, I hope not, I'd be so pissed. Actually I think alot of what gets me so upset about all the content/account deletion issues is that I really do worry that it actually will happen to me. Flickr User Posts Comments Critical of Obama on the Official White House Photostream and Has His Comments Along With His Entire Flickrstream Deleted Without Warning - http://thomashawk.com/2009...
P060809PS-0350
I was dismayed today to read about the latest alleged case of Flickr Censorship. Censorship (or as they like to call it “moderation”) continues to be a problem on Flickr. The most recent case is that of Flickr User Shepherd Johnson. According to Johnson on the evening of Wednesday June 3rd, he posted comments critical of President Obama on “8 or so” photos on the White House’s official Flickrstream. He said that he posted these comments because he was upset with the language that Obama chose to use in his recent Cairo speech regarding terrorism. Johnson said that two days later his comments had been scrubbed and deleted from the Flickr photos. Johnson shared with me the type of comment that he made and what he shared with me seemed appropriate and polite. On Friday, June 5th, once again Johnson posted more comments on photos in the official White House Flickrstream. This time comments that were critical of the President’s recent decision to try and withhold photographs of detainee... more... - Thomas Hawk

Wait, wha....? - Stephen Mack
I won't comment on the acceptability of Flickr's exercising of their right to entirely delete users accounts for any reason they deem sufficient, but I will note that they claim that right pretty clearly in their ToS, even for paid accounts (the pro-rated paid value of the account is forfeited to Flicker as well, by the way). I would recommend anyone who uses Flickr to protect their... more... - Kevin Fox
As owner of my photos, I have the right to delete any untoward or off-topic comments which I do often on my Flickr photos. Always with an explanation of why I deleted the comment. I'm sure the WH or whoever did the same thing. Now with users who come back and repost a similar comment, I block them. My point: I don't care if his comments were deleted. That's a non-issue. But to have Flickr delete his account is overkill. I've complained about a lot of Flickr users and they still have their accounts. - Anika
I think this falls under the category of "Don't like their community? Start your own damn photo sharing site." - Brian Johns
Or defect to Smugmug??? - Roberto Bonini
If you don't feel that Flickr should delete accounts without warning or censor political speech dig this here: http://digg.com/politic... - Thomas Hawk
Doesn't Flickr ever listen to this negative press that they get over and over when these things happen? Any "normal" company would be out of business if they treated their customers like this. - Nils Sandin
Apparently, no. They don't. - Roberto Bonini
I totally don't agree with that, not cool at all on Flickr's part. The White House is subject to criticism wherever they put their name and it should not be censored. Probably not the best forum for the criticism but that doesn't mean they should delete his account. - Jim Graham
Please don't be in a hurry to indict Flickr, where there any other reasons that led to the their decision? - Shakeel Mahate
Maybe multiple users got mad about his comments and blocked/flagged his account, which automatically deactivated it? - Roshan Vyas
I certainly gave flickr an opportunity to respond. I emailed both Yahoo PR and Flickr Community Manager Heather Champ on it. The response in my blog post is what their PR firm sent back to me. They had every opportunity to try and explain their position. These comments as well as comments on my blog post are open as well and they are also perfectly welcome to respond there as well. I sent an email back to their PR agency saying that I'd be happy to publish any additional comment from Flickr on this matter. - Thomas Hawk
Kevin's point is a good one. Certainly Flickr is well within their right to delete an account for anything that they'd like. And I think it is too bad that Shepard lost photos here that he did not have backed up. It's a good reminder not to rely on anyone but yourself to back up your photos. It's still not right though and as the most significant and relevant social photo sharing site in the world I think that they owe their users better than this. - Thomas Hawk
I really wish people would get over this whole annoyingly libertarian approach to free speech. Flickr is a web service, not a public square. Just as I would kick someone out of my home for saying something I found offensive, Flickr absolutely has the right to revoke the accounts of people who they feel are in violation of their TOS. Thomas, I know this is a particular crusade of yours, but I can't help wishing you'd find another axe to grind. Or, you know, use it to drive people to Zoomr. - cecily
Cecily, I feel strongly that free speech should be allowed on Flickr. I also feel strongly that Flickr needs to revisit their policies and procedures and not make account deletions *permanent*. I think we are owed an opportunity to appeal a censorship decision and even Flickr has admitted in the past that they've made mistakes and apologized of other cases of censorship. I'm not going... more... - Thomas Hawk
Flickr has a system in place to mark accounts and users as 18+ adult. Even if they find things that they feel are offensive I think that they can simply mark the account as such and then all default accounts can no longer see that content. It is not right for them to censor users this way. I'd object to the same thing anywhere. Hell, I was bitching at MSFT this weekend for censoring the... more... - Thomas Hawk
I didn't see what the actual comments were. What language was used? And who posts photos without backups. If I make backups of anything it's my photos. - Barry Sanschagrin
Shepherd Johnson just posted in another forum that he spoke with Heather Champ about the matter and says that she told him that his account was deleted for posting a prison detainee photo as well what Flickr perceived as his "spamming" Flickr. Johnson left a voicemail on the matter on Carol Bartz's cell phone. - Thomas Hawk
From Johnson: "She said that was part of the reason and the other part was that she claimed that I was spamming the forum, to which I asked her if she also gave warnings to the people who posted on twenty photographs the same "That's my President Go bama!" type drivel over and over and over again. I also had her define the word "spam", to which she could not. She seemed very careful to... more... - Thomas Hawk

ahhh By LORETTA CHAO BEIJING -- Some Chinese Internet users criticized a government plan to require personal computer makers to ship Internet-filtering software with all new pcs, after state-run media publicized details of the initiative. - Chad Spacey
Johnson is also saying that Heather said she didn't know anything about the deleted comments which may mean that it was actually the white house that deleted those, not Flickr. - Thomas Hawk
As if Flickr is the most appropriate place to illustrate your beef with Obama. - © b e e n s w a n k
What Anika said; deleting the comments is not big deal. Deleting the photo stream is infuriating. - RAPatton
How friggin' difficult would it be for Flickr to make banned accounts private for 7 days so banned users at least have the opportunity to retrieve their files first? Hell, if Flickr wants to ban accounts, maybe they should offer a DVD of the banned user's pics (for $5 for free accounts, free for pro accounts). That'd go a long way in making them seem a little less horrible toward their users. - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
As I've always maintained, it's the web site owner's right to do what they want with the bits they store, but one has to wonder whether the millions of Flickr photo comments made in the name of Bush-bashing would ever illicit such a response? Flickr obviously has the right to choose sides, but they should be upfront with their reasoning in this case. In other words something like "we... more... - Craig Eddy
did Yahoo not jail those Chinese photographers? - Prolific Programmer from IM
Re Chad Spacey: http://shanghaiist.com/2009... Flickr is not the worse thing - Ivy Jiang
Craig, I think that that is an interesting point to consider. If you do a search for Obama on the flickr blog you come up with 30 different posts (many of them quite flattering including extensive coverage of his innaguration). By contrast a search for Bush only pulls up 2 posts. I'm not saying that Flickr staff shouldn't be able to promote Obama over Bush on the official Flickr blog,... more... - Thomas Hawk
Wait, so they CLEAR all photos after your account is deleted?!? - Prolific Programmer from IM
obviously Flickr feels bad about this at least a little bit, otherwise they wouldn't be offering him a monetary credit back. Still, that doesn't make up for the fact that they permanently deleted his photos along with likely thousands of comments and commentary on his photos. @Prolific Programmer. Yes, they do clear all your photos when they delete your account, permanently and irreversibly. Also all your comments, group postings, other's comments on your photos, etc. - Thomas Hawk
so I wasn't being daft by uploading identical photos to smugmug, zooomr and flickr? - Prolific Programmer from IM
I survived political censorship and all I got was this $25 gift card. - Dave
I wonder if there was something else that could have caused Mr. Johnson to be banned, but isn't being mentioned. Maybe he has previous infractions that pushed his account just far enough over the line? Personally, I want to hear both sides before I make any judgements. - TeraDyne Azurepaw
NO DAMNIT FLICKR IS EVIL! - Prolific Programmer from IM
<j/k> - Prolific Programmer from IM
I think what is starting to trouble me more is that according to Johnson, Flickr was not aware that his comments critical of Obama had been deleted before they deleted his account. This leads me to believe that there is a good possibility that the comments were actually deleted by the White House itself. If the White House is going to engage social media, they need to do it honestly and... more... - Thomas Hawk
TeraDyne, Johnson is now saying that Flickr Community Manager Heather Champ called him on the phone and talked to him for about two hours after he left a voicemail on Carol Bartz's cell phone. He is saying that she told him that the reason why his account was deleted was because he posted a prisoner detainee abuse photo and for "spamming" flickr, without defining what "spamming" flickr... more... - Thomas Hawk
Yes Thomas, the WH involvement would be most disturbing. - Craig Eddy
Thomas: Here is my speculation WRT the White House engaging in social media. You've probably got some hyper-liberal new grad or still in school intern running these accounts. Those types don't like people speaking against anything that has to do with what they believe to be right and haven't learned that its better to just accept or engage those with opposing thoughts, rather than just trying to force them to go away. Thus, the comments get deleted unless they are "on message." - EricaJoy
Thomas, the problem is that Johnson is the one telling both sides, therefore, we aren't really getting both sides. While he might be trustworthy, it's never a good thing to hear both sides from one party. I agree, though, that Flickr should come out with their side, but I'll leave my judgement and opinion up in the air until both parties have given their viewpoints. - TeraDyne Azurepaw
Erica, that would be really sad if it were indeed the case. I'm personally interested in authentic real conversations with regards to social media and always had assumed that the various social media sites maintained by Obama's team were in fact uncensored. I don't know how to get comment on this officially from the white house, but I'm going to try and call them and see if I can at least get a no comment as to whether or not they censor their comments on their flickrstream. - Thomas Hawk
Censorship is: "You may not speak." Moderation is: "Get your own soapbox." People who think the world owes them a soapbox often confuse the two. - Pat Rice
TeraDyne. I totally agree and think it would be good for Flickr to be more forthcoming in this case. Unfortunately for us at this point, it's up to them whether or not they are going to explain any more on this than they already have. - Thomas Hawk
In previous generations/administrations Shepherd Johnson would likely have been deleted, not just his account. Seriously though, Flickr needs to implement a ban rather than delete. - Andrew Smith
@Pat: totally agree, but the moderator (whether Flickr or the WH) needs to be TRANSPARENT about *WHY* there doesn't seem to be any "negative" comments. The reason isn't that no one disagrees, the reason is that we scrubbed them. - Craig Eddy
@AndrewSmith: that's a totally ridiculous assertion, unless you believe in Arkanacide - Craig Eddy
Pat, I'm not saying that Flickr is not allowed to censor. It is their soapbox after all. But flickr is a large public square, even while owned by Yahoo. People invest thousands of hours there and it is a *huge* space for public discourse, similar to our own FF here. Certainly neither FF or Flickr "owe" us a soapbox. But I think that it's respectful given the time and energy that we... more... - Thomas Hawk
I disagree with what flickr has done to Johnson. But if the WH rules the States and flickr rules flickr, we'd better backup our photos in a safe place - "in the end all these sites really are are their communities". This is a fact. - Ivy Jiang
Deletion shouldn't be irreversible if Heather's promises 17 months ago, when another account-scrubbing caused some outcry, have any value. See: http://www.flickr.com/help... and http://www.flickr.com/help... - Edward Coffey
Another update from Johnson: "Update #2: More from Johnson: "Heather only mentioned that she deleted the comments concerning the Abu Ghraib photo, when I asked her about the original comment on the Obama Cairo Speech she had no idea what I was talking about. I crafted my dialogue with her to find out exactly what she knew and when she knew it. That means that somebody connected with the Whitehouse, one of Peter Souza's staff or an intern, deleted my comments originally." - Thomas Hawk
Well, if the comments were removed by the owner of the stream, it sucks but I think all flickr account owners are entitled to removed comments on their photos. It's a bit silly, since the Obama administration pledged openness, so it does against that. I still can't understand why his account was deleted, though. That seems very extreme for what this man did. Shame on you flickr. - Jason Hill
Truly some great photos and history being recorded by them on the White House Stream. As for as the comments go, everyone has the right to say anything they want...on they're own stream. - John D Reasor
Alleged. Sounds like spin. - John Blossom
interesting. I'm glad I didn't do that trick yet. - Noah David Simon
There are a couple of questions that come too mind, were his comments the only ones that were deleted from the comment stream. Why can't flickr simply make the offending person flickr account private, then notify them that they are up for account will be deleted and give them 10 days to retrieve their pictures. It can't be that hard, to do some like that. - Kim Landwehr
It is not public discourse. If you have to sign up for an account - it's not public. If you have to click a little box that says "I agree to play by your rules" - but then decide you want to flout those rules, then be prepared to have the virtual door hit ya where the good Lord split ya'. - cecily
I have always believed that Flickr needs a 'safe harbour' where an account can be parked while the issue is worked through. - Mel Buckpitt
Just sent the following flickrmail to the official Whitehouse Flickr photostream account. Hopefully they respond: Hi, My name is Thomas Hawk. I am a blogger and Flickr photographer. I've said it before. it is legal. I may not like Obama as a leader, but that is irrelevant. private property is private property and this is why we have to make sure no private company can monopolize API standards or... more... - Noah David Simon
I know that I am showing the wackiness that is I but I really don't care. It isn't censorship by the definition of the word. TOS. The guy was attempting to make a point by threadjacking. Folks on the interwebs used to call that sort of thing out. I might not agree with flickr deleting his stuff but once again the onus was on him to back up his own content. It is not as if there are not plenty of other places that he can post hist material. My 2 cents. - Mathew A. Koeneker
thanks for pointing this out Thomas - Noah David Simon
This has nothing to deal with the first amendment. It's their site. It's a customer service issue. Just start a boycott. Post a message: "I am moving to <your favorite gallery site> because Flickr deleted Johnson's account". Once you reach a million people threatening a boycott, they will do something or maybe they don't need users anymore. - Antonio Piccolboni
Antonio, I couldn't imagine living without Flickr. It's such an amazing and unique place. I'd rather try to stay and change it than boycott it. I think they made a bad censorship call here and would like to see them publicly apologize for it to Shepherd. More significantly though I think that they owe us as users not to make account deletions immediately permanent and to provide warning... more... - Mrsth
While I agree that Flickr should never delete a photostream (banning or locking would be better), it is still the photographer's, or Flickr's, prerogative to delete comments, as it plainly states in the ToS. Does it go against the transparency Obama is championing? Yes, it does, and that is unfortunate. But, seeing how Shepherd is now trolling the White House Photostream, throwing temper tantrums like a 5 year old, he is overstepping boundaries. - Rene Wirtz
sorry that last comment was from me, I was accidentally logged into mrsth's account. - Thomas Hawk
Certainly Flickr made a bad call by completely deleting his account, but its their right. But why make critical comments about Obama's speech or policies or whatever on his FLICKR site? Unless his comments were about what he didnt like about the photos, it seems like the wrong forum to me. - Manny
Manny, I can think of few other forums more relevant for talking about releasing the prison detainee abuse photos than on an actual official Govt. photostream. To me it seems like one of the most appropriate places of all. The fact of the matter is that Obama did in fact flip flop on this issue and this was a way that an American could offer his criticism of that fact in a public forum.... more... - Thomas Hawk
And I certainly recognize that Flickr is owned by a private company Yahoo and Yahoo is well within their legal rights to delete this account. As I am within my legal rights to criticize their decision as loudly as I'd like. I just think that as a private company that they owe us more than that. Flickr is a jewel, an incredibly important piece of the cultural landscape. I'd like to see them handle their stewardship of it more responsibly. - Thomas Hawk
Sure, Flickr is privately-owned, but so are airlines. Flickr should not be allowed to get rid of your account any more than an airline is allowed to get rid of your luggage. If some stewardess decides you're being a jerk and kicks you off the plane, the airline isn't allowed to throw away your bags! - Gabe
Amazing to see all the Obama apologists endorse positions they condemned in Bush. I remember people jumping all over me when I noted back during the primary that Obama's super-cool social media campaign apparatus would very soon be a *government* apparatus with formidable censorship power. Looks like that day has arrived. - joneilortiz
wish i could read the actual article, but firefox 3 on the mac crashes every time i try to load the page. - dannysullivan
The details that I've seen on the reproduced image of this post seem to indicate that it was not just comments but reproduction of the controversial photos. Is it censorship? Yes. Is it what the White House wants? Yes. You take it from there. - John Blossom
danny, I'm not sure why that is. I'm able to open the page in firefox 3 on a mac no problem. - Thomas Hawk
John, yes it is my understanding that this user posted an image that is widely available via Google Image Search and other channels of detainee prisoner abuse along with comments objecting to the recent passage of legislation blocking release of additional prison abuse photos. It's my understanding that the image posted was not from his photostream but actually from another user's... more... - Thomas Hawk
Yet everyone still continues to use Flickr for some reason. - Dave Roth
Dave, because it's an amazing community, perhaps the single greatest community, of photographers on the internet today. There is so much that is so good about Flickr and there really is nothing else quite like it anywhere else on the web. That said, Yahoo Management has largely allowed flickr to abuse their users and repeatedly engage in censorship and refuses to allow safeguards to be... more... - Thomas Hawk

Is there a real-time gadget? - Rolf Schewe
You need to go to Gmail | Settings | Labs | Add any gadget by URL | Enable - Carlos Granier-Phelps
i'm using it from months. It's really useful - Daniele Di Gregorio
Added! Thanks - Micah Wittman from twhirl
I wish I could add this gadget, but when I enable the Gadgets from any URL thing in Labs, I don't see the form to enter the URL under the Gadgets tab. Apparently several people have this problem (went to the Google Groups to add feedback that it's not working correctly), and no one has offered up any solution. :( Sucks! - Cheryl Jones
Finally get the idea,it is cool though, but not very practical. - Steve Chou
The URL tab is added to your settings area, not the Labs area. That was confusing for me. - Yolanda
That is so cool! For me, the only problem is the width which is not appropriate but it works fine - Rémi Fayolle
@Yolanda: I know. The description for the Labs item that you enable says that a Gadgets tab will be enabled on the Settings page, but clicking on that Gadgets tab doesn't show the form where you can enter the URL like it's supposed to. Bah. - Cheryl Jones
@cheryljones I'm having the same problem too. I just get a blank page on the gadgets tab. Let me know if you figure out how to import. - Al Stevens
@Al: Just for fun I went back to the Gadget tab in my Gmail settings, and the URL form box is there now. Just added the FriendFeed gadget to Gmail, yay! - Cheryl Jones
Hmmm. The FF gadget is less useful than I thought. First of all, there doesn't seem to be a way to manually refresh it without refreshing Gmail as a whole (perhaps I'm too impatient waiting for updates). Also you can't post an original post through the gadget. And the number of FF updates shown by the gadget is limited. I thought I'd be able to see older posts. Oh well, it might be good for occasional use. - Cheryl Jones
Nice, but wish the tabs in Gmail had replacing options.. - Reza
It's not enough wide for me. - Smeerch
A while ago it stopped refreshing properly so I stopped using it. - Cheryl Jones

It's OK to actually like the new FriendFeed design... That is all.
*fistbump* - Alex Scoble
I like it a lot. My only complaint is the gray background and the forced-width main column. I'd rather it be proportional to the width of the browser window. And I'd prefer a white background. - Akiva Moskovitz

Lindsey is Fierce!
For Lindsay D - A quick mockup of a different FriendFeed design
FF-Mock.jpg
re: http://friendfeed.com/e... Normally I wouldn't do this because it's just inviting people to flame. I was very critical of the "new" design. This is just a face-lift of the new layout to illustrate how design can help usability even in little ways. *disclaimer* I am not a minimalist designer. I'm much more suited to "pop" design. I'm sure there are many designers who could do better than this. - Lindsey is Fierce!
Who's that jackass that likes The Fixx? - Mark Wilson
Hey, I don't remember liking The Fixx! Very cool Lindsey! - LogEx
much better! - truefreemind
Clean. Good start! - AJ Batac
Nice Lindsey. Your crabbing bugged me, but I take it all back because obviously, you're not one to bitch and not help. You bitch and help, which in my book is better than someone who quietly helps. - Matthew DeVries
LOL! I do a lot of bitching without helping though. Don't ruin my reputation :P - Lindsey is Fierce!
I'm seriously all about this design. Someone make sure the devs see it. - Matthew DeVries
Damn, Lindsey! That looks hot! - Rahsheen ™, Coach of FF
I'd go for a design like that. I don't know how the right-hand menu will work on really wide screens though. - Andrew Trinh
looks like... FB - chaz2b
Design is subjective though. It may look good to us, but may look shit to others. You can't please everyone, but you definitely meet in the middle. - AJ Batac
Looks much better than their current beta. :) - Bluesun 2600
Damn girl. You so fly. :P - tinypants - Hagitha of FF
now that I like - good job Lindsey - Steven Hodson
@AJ That is definitely true. In all honesty this isn't my ideal look for FF but I wasn't designing for me. My personal version of FF would have lots of color and unicorns. Gotta have those unicorns :P btw- I kept wanting to see a larger version of your skin AJ but I couldn't get a bigger picture and I don't use FireFox anymore. Good job from what I can tell though :) - Lindsey is Fierce!
There ya go! I like it. Did it hurt?? ;) Seriously though, I am a fan of open and clean and I like that you brought back in the post source too. - Her Lindsay-ness
*sob* Yes it hurt I think I bled a little T_T Who wants to kiss it and make is better? - Lindsey is Fierce!
Same as Lindsay. Fan of minimalism. Especially on high traffic, community sites like this. - AJ Batac
Anyone responds to Lindsey's request to kiss it and make it better, be forewarned: I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum. - Mark Wilson
They Live! Nicely done Wilson. As to the design, it's good. I like it. However, I kinda like the one I'm looking at now as well. Maybe I'm just too easy to please. - Jim Hearts FF
AJ, can those provider icons be added with Stylish? - Matthew DeVries
the current beta page design looks like a throwback to the early days of pastel heaven Web 2.0 let's cornerize everything. At least with this design we have the clean white that was always talked up by users but with a nice addition of a modern layout - Steven Hodson
Matthew, no. You can only do CSS in Stylish. - AJ Batac
Looks nice, Lindsey. - Kol Tregaskes
I dig having the service symbol visible somewhere. To me it's still important. - Mitch
And just as a quick note, I never intended to make anyone feel shitty about the work they did on the new version of FF. Sometimes I speak without thinking about the person behind it. Please accept my apologies for my lack of tact. - Lindsey is Fierce!
Lindsey, that apology and doing the mockup takes a ton of class. You rock. Your passion and enthusiasm shine through. - Stephen Mack
This thread from its origins progressing to the design feedback. Too an insightful acknowledgment of our collective communication limitations, and ensuing apology. Irrespective of anyone's opinion emphasizes for me everything that I love about FF. - Eric Logan

This looks like a really strong design. Lack of large areas of contrasting colors lead the focus to be on the content. Well done. Where do I click or send money to use this? - Andy Bakun

I wanted to link to this entry, but now i can't find a permalink to individual FF posts. Is that feature gone? Anyhow, great job with the mockup. Is that a dig at me Jason? :P There is a link in the right column for DMs just like it is in the new beta. I've always been an advocate for private messages, no hate on that front. I particularly like how you can post a DM to your home feed and still send it to someone to bring it to their attention. - Lindsey is Fierce!

Damn Lindsey...that is a nice mock-up!! - JA Castillo
Definitely a better look Lindsey. 1up! - Parth Awasthi
I don't like the logo on the right but otherwise much better - Arthur Guy
Pretty good! I'd also recommend making the comment areas the same size (somehow), so the page doesn't jitter/quake (one comment can just replace an older, bumping it up into the ajax/more area) - Christopher Galtenberg
Definitely like it... the current beta style looks like a bad wordpress theme. I like this design much better. - Shawn Duffy from twhirl
A million times better than the current beta and a million points to you for your statements in the last discussion, Lindsey girl, even though you mocked up a design anyway. :-P They shouldn't depend on us users that are graphic designers to show them how to design it, they should hire a good one to do that for themselves. I get paid to do the wild thang! - Carmen
I ♥ Carmen! Rawk it! - Lindsey is Fierce!

Oh . . . sorry Nation. I recently cleaned out my subs a week or so ago and haven't added people I like back in yet. Feel free to DM me now ^-^ - Lindsey is Fierce!
Can we also find an easy way to follow the posts that we've commented on to see what others are saying? So hard...or maybe I'm too much of a noob. - Kandeezie
No you're not too much of a noob K@ndeezie. I've been wanting that feature for forever. :) - Lindsey is Fierce!
Oh, I know it's just a mockup, Lindsey. But if it just took a click or a sending a few dollars somewhere to get a design like this deployed, I could be convinced to do it. - Andy Bakun
I found the Userstyles.org link I mentioned earlier. Have a look at http://beta.friendfeed.com/nbr... - Nathan Rein
goooood job Lindsey, I'd totally dig it - Dobromir Hadzhiev
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. You make a cranky bitch happy. I'd be willing to code it but I know it'd have to go on userstyles or one of those scripts and i wouldn't know where to begin with that. I may take a look at it this weekend. *edit* And I still say i shouldn't even have to do this. I think they should work on the design more - Lindsey is Fierce!
...i like it. nice and clean! simple UIs are best, imho. - .LAG liked that
Lindsey, I definitely Love your design better than the beta. I like that the service Icons were added back in and the subtle box around each post makes it easier to read. - Jeff P. Henderson
Very low contrast, tiny type, ridiculously tiny line height, a palette that that some would say is overly feminine. What are those lines under the avatar icons? - Jason Wehmhoener
As I explained in my first comment, this isn't my strong suit. I did it to satisfy a challenge. It hasn't been fine tuned and is a rough mockup in a few hours of time. The lines under the avatars were something I was trying out as a visual break . . . some texture to keep your eyes from sliding straight down the line. I never claimed it was perfect. - Lindsey is Fierce!
Fair enough. My point is that it's subjective. - Jason Wehmhoener
My point is they didn't have a good designer touch this. - Lindsey is Fierce!
See, that's the kind of mean-spirited crap that just makes me (and I imagine others) want to tune you out. - Jason Wehmhoener
Feel free to tune me out. I'm not here to be diplomatic. I'm not here to kiss ass. And that's hardly mean-spirited. I could be brutal. Saying a good designer didn't touch it is putting it mildy - Lindsey is Fierce!
OK. I'm pretty much in agreement with your "troll" in the other thread at this point. - Jason Wehmhoener
Jason - why the hell would you necro a thread 3 weeks later, then get all designer nitpicky over something she knocked out in about an hour after being challenged to do so? I'll be the first to say that Lindsey can a brat, but you were just out of line and silly to go all Ebert on a first draft mock up that managed to destroy the production version with little effort. - Matthew DeVries
If you'd actually been around when we discussing this, but you weren't. If you had a problem with it, then you should have rebuilt it, or made your own, not shit all over it. - Matthew DeVries
Lindsey, very nice. - Greg GuitarBuster
In case it hasn't been said - Bret Taylor has talked publicly about skinnability as something FriendFeed is interested in. Not sure whether this would let us rock our own UI styles, or whether it's just for rooms and embeds but it's still interesting and would explain the 'neutrality' of the current UI a bit more. - Robin Barooah
Robin, yeah didn't he mention that on the the pre-beta video? - Kol Tregaskes
I don't suppose we can combine Lindsey's design above with AJ's commenting and search term colouring? I think that would be ideal. What do you think? - Kol Tregaskes
That looks really great - and addresses several of the things I don't like. The font is a little tiny for me, but I've got my monitor set to "insane" resolution, so that's no big surprise. Good work! :) - Jennifer Dittrich
I like the look of this user style, especially the addition of the feed and user icons. - John (a.k.a. dendroica)
Kol - yes - that's where I got the information from. - Robin Barooah
I think it looks very slick - nicely done - Martha
Personally, I love it. I'm using AJ Batac's stylish script right now, but I easily migrate to this, as well. - Helen Sventitsky
Looks very nice. I also like like the color coding of comments etc in the style that was floating around. Do you include that too? - Todd Hoff
Cause Lindsey is awesome! - Amber, Random Time Lord

Seem few times, but as it was in the city it wasn't nearly as bright as these.. in a Lapland it would be awesome! *so wanting to go there* - Nia
Oh, great question. I had the rare and random chance of seeing northern lights at a much lower than normal latitude. I was briefly visiting Langley, British Columbia (a valley suburb east of Vancouver ... years later I would move there). My buddy and I were up late, maybe 2am, and happen to look out the window only to see a green oscillating and glowing haze. It seemed maybe a 500 feet away hovering in the night sky. Our hosts, who had lived there all along had never seen it & missed it that night too. - Micah Wittman
Wonderful color! I want to see these someday. - Robert Scoble
Yes, about 6 years ago in Alaska. Kevin and I were on the top deck of the ship we were on late and the came out bright and beautiful and directly above the ship. They were moving and kept reaching down towards us. It was the most amazing experience. About 6 months ago I saw them again though only from my plane window heading off on our honeymoon. While not as dramatic it was an awesome beginning! I would love to be able to go north and really see them again. - Rachel Lea Fox

Eric Berlin
I'm starting to think of Twitter as the best place for social media marketing (and take that any way you like), and FriendFeed as the best place to consume information and interact with smart people.
Anyone relate to this? - Eric Berlin
totally agree Eric! Twitter for transmission of information - which is inherent in the question "What are you doing" and Friend Feed for discussion / debate / conversation with Scoble(s) and the rest! - shayne catrett
Well said Eric. Twitter for broadcasting, and FF for interacting :) - embee
Thanks shayne! And I can see FF adding direct messaging it's trying to convert users from both Twitter and Facebook. I can certainly see using FF as more of a communications hub to expand on my information consumption and interacting with smart people :-) - Eric Berlin
FriendFeed is still very tech and geek focused though - many of my friends and business sector are on Facebook or Twitter. Sometimes you have to go where the majority are. - Sally Church
Twitter is not suitable for conversations. I think it's good for what it's designed for: Telling your friends what you're doing in 140 characters or less. - Meryn Stol
It really depends on who you are subscribed to and how you consume your feed. By using Twitter groups in TweetDeck I can find isolate the smart people away from the rest of my feed, the same thing applies with FriendFeed, but you are right about FriendFeed having a lot less marketing. - Aram Zucker-Scharff
That's an interesting thought, Sally. Any "social network" is dependent on who you're friends with already, who you want to connect with, etc. While any "early adopter"-type site is going to talk a lot of tech and geek, I actually love that I can share TV and politics stories that I'm reading in Google Reader, for example, and then follow up with conversations on FF. - Eric Berlin
That's exactly how I use them, Eric. But I don't broadcast on Twitter, I interact on a large scale and give my business a personality. - Paul Reynolds
Great point Aram, but I'd think that only a small percentage of people have the knowledge/expertise/time (I'm as lazy as anyone!) to do that? And even so, Twitter gets cluttered with noise rather quickly. It can be a fun ride while a hot topic is being tossed around, but ongoing it can be a bit much. - Eric Berlin
I see your point precisely Paul, and I use Twitter in the same way. It's "friendly marketing" for a new social media age :-) - Eric Berlin
it sure seems to be getting that way with the celebrity-whoring, the social media experts and the spammers. i think that's one way to look at it for sure - Cee Bee
Well, there's certainly that going on Cee, but there's a "good" kind of marketing that happens on Twitter as well, as Paul mentions. Where companies and brands (and more importantly real *people* who rep companies and brands) can interact with real customers, users, and so on, developing relationships, gathering feedback, etc. - Eric Berlin
Eric, yeah The Life Scientists room is where I spend most of my time of FF, but having pruned my Twitter feed ruthlessly I find I can have good conversations with several groups of people who are not interested in FF. It's not ideal or in FF format but one adapts - Sally Church
Totally agree - Karma Martell
Is there any good place for "social media marketing"? I'm not talking about people who occasionally twitter about their business, but the people who self-identify as social media marketers. GTFO, seriously. - Mr. Gunn
Meryn is dead on, again, about conversations in Twitter. You and I think must think alike, because I agree with almost everything you've said about the FF beta, as well. Lots of people on twitter don't realize how goofy they look with those multi-tweet comments they send out, which everyone inevitably reads in reverse order. - Mr. Gunn
Mr. Gunn, to answer your question, I think Twitter is a good place for "good social media marketing," which doesn't look/feel like marketing. - Eric Berlin
agree, filter is best part of new friendfeed - Lu Tao
+1 @Eric - .LAG liked that
Thanks LAG ! - Eric Berlin
Twitter is a good tool for broadcast and search. FriendFeed is a great tool for discussion and information discovery. So yes. - Louis Gray
hear hear - Thomas Power
Twitter is like hanging your head out of a Ferrari on the Autobahn and shoutin stuff while hoping some of the other drivers shout back (or parking on the side of the Autobahn and listening to people shout stuff out as they drive by - if you like what they say you can grab their license plate number and lo jack their car) - FriendFeed... - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
I'm just beginning to learn the differences that FF brings to my social media mix particularly in contrast to Twitter. I don't feel like I'm at all using FF to its potential yet, though. Anyone know of any good blog posts or tutorial articles out there that model how to use FF effectively (particularly recent ones about the beta release)? - Mark Traphagen
...Friendfeed is like going to a ridiculously large party with tons of interesting people where you can start to talk about whatever you like in hopes that a crowd will form and engage in your discussion (or walk by and give you a thumbs up that they like what you are saying) or you can just mosey around and listen or join in on others conversations - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
@Sally Church ... that was true of Twitter, GMail and some other sites too. At the beginning there were the early adopters and they're usually male nerdy techies. I think blogs were the same deal. - Rudolf Olah
Great analogy Marco ! - Eric Berlin
I wholeheartedly agree. - imabonehead
Twitter starts the Convo .. Friendfeed finishes it ,, - johnpiercy

* Cleaner and cool look and feel (FriendFeed is already clean, this makes it a lot cleaner) * Different font style * Highlights friends comments with baby yellow (instantly know that the user is already your friend) * Highlights your comments with baby blue (it’s cool to see your own comments from river of comments. Looks good when you are a distance away your computer, makes your... more... - AJ Batac
yay! - mjc
This userstyle brings the FriendFeed conversation to another level by instantly letting you know… 1) Your own comment (Powder Blue) 2) Your friends comments (Light Yellow) 3) Your non-friends comments (Normal FriendFeed Comment Color) 4) Likes (Light Pink) - AJ Batac
As FriendFeed becomes popular, you’ll definitely need some kind of instant and attention grabbing color that catches your eyes and tell you where you left off in a conversation. Hope you like it. - AJ Batac
Well THAT didn't take long. - teh Dork Knight
MUCH better :-) - andy brudtkuhl
Nice AJ. I'm considering installing Chrome v2 just to use this Greasemonkey script. You fixed all the UI nitpicks I have. :D - Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Now I have to move over to FireFox? - CW™
Congrats aj. - Alp
you legend. :) - Zee.
THANK YOU! - Rochelle
Installed and liking... wish the font was a tad bigger but I can adjust that :) - Bwana ☠
could you block the logo also? - mjc
installing - lovely- although there is something in having the "main area" diff. from the rest of the screen as in the original design - must play and see what works better for me - Naor Mark
That's much better, thanks AJ - Sally Church
Good work! - Rich
i like colour isn't too much white hard on your eyes - Damian Holmes
mjc, it won't look good. but you can use this (#logo img { display:none !important; }) - AJ Batac
That looks much better! Maybe the FF devs can adopt that scheme. - Her Lindsay-ness

wow that was fast... I don't mind the gray, but this is a nice option for those complainers who don't - Nathan Chase
Switched already and I'm lovin' this script - much nicer! - Sally Church
I cleaned it up further. If you've downloaded it already, edit and change this line (.bar {border:none !important; background:none !important;background-color:#C8DCF5 !important;}) ;) much better without those borders on bars ;) - AJ Batac
(too lazy for looking up the line - re-installed :) - Naor Mark
Same as Naor, but yeah it is nicer :-) - Sally Church
this is fantastic - loving life with a #112 body :) - Christopher Galtenberg
Wow AJ, nice job. I hope FF takes notice. - Andrew Smith
AJ that was fast! - Susan Beebe
Much better AJ! - AJ Kohn
Wow. Nice. Thank you! - Ken Sheppardson
I can't tell... are you mimicking the effect of the little yellow halo around the comment bubble when it's inserted into a page you're viewing? Ah... there it is... the halo's still there. Might be nice to have the entire comment's color fade. Skill Level 2.0 ;-) - Ken Sheppardson
Thanks AJ! - Shey, Jamaican of FF
I love the comment HIGHLIGHT COLORS - blue = mine :) Friends = yellow = cool!!! thanks - Susan Beebe
@Susan Wasn't that apart of the beta already? - Shey, Jamaican of FF
@Shey, nope. - AJ Batac
Wow, this style is gorgeous! Blows the default beta away. Still no fan of fixed-width but if devs go with this style and the new functionality, it's enough win for me. - ·[▪_▪]·
@robot, here's one for you -> Widescreen version (http://beta.friendfeed.com/ajbatac...) or fluid/liquid - AJ Batac
Widescreen...for...the....WIN - Bwana ☠
I do wish links were in a different colour or <strong> - Shey, Jamaican of FF

♥♥♥♥♥ Thanks!! - Alix Whitmire
I switched to Firefox just to use your layout - it helps. - LPH™ and his dog P™
AJ - Would you give permission to FF bosses to just steal your setup and implement it? It's just a whole lot nicer. - Matthew DeVries
free to modify, free to whatever you want to do with it. ;) - AJ Batac
hey dude you got mentioned in the read write web http://www.readwriteweb.com/archive... - Alfredo

Thank you, AJ, you rock! - Michelle Martinez
Awesome!! I'm using it right now. - Mark Layton
Gosh, that's better, thanks for the Beta FF version - I've been used CleanerFF since using FF. - Kol Tregaskes
No, do not want... It looks like the old one... no way. the new bet-UI is way better. At last some colors - Ryo / Fuck Facebook
This is VERY nice. Well done! - Tony
@wiredryo You really like colors? I find them distracting and cheap-looking. Just my style though, maybe. I like minimalism. - ·[▪_▪]·
Yes, of course I like colors. The time of Black & White TV has gone, you know :) - Ryo / Fuck Facebook
WOO-HOO! Now THAT is more like it! - Steven Perez
So much better. Thanks! <3 - ♥patricia♥
That's wonderful. Thank you! - joey
Even cleaner without avatars in the feed: http://userstyles.org/styles... - Meryn Stol
Really enjoying the Cleaner FF. By the popularity of this thread, I'm assuming many are not really happy with the gray background and colored sidebar boxes. - Ricardo Vidal
I personally have not much trouble with the new color scheme. Try removing the avatars, they are really noisy. Just try to experience the difference. - Meryn Stol
colored and + fontsized the post titles, as i prefer to catch the posts rather then the comments, it really works. - Yunus Tunak
Haven't gotten the new look >.< - Patrick from twhirl
AJ - Could you maybe make one that moves the filters and subscriptions over to the left side, turns off the real time, makes the avatars disappear and replace them with icons showing what service provided the post. Maybe as a finishing touch add the ability to post things to our rooms/groups? - Matthew DeVries
Feels so much better. - Valley
Application error (Apache) Change this error message for exceptions thrown outside of an action (like in Dispatcher setups or broken Ruby code) in public/500.html :( - Helen Sventitsky
I changed the background for #f8f8fc because it doesn't look as good when it's just as white as the main column. Having it an off-white like that is a lot nicer. Just a suggestion. - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
Also, I turned off highlighting of friend comments (although not my own) because you all chat too much. :) - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
this is awesome. thanks so much! - Karoli
great! i disliked beta's grey background. :-) - browneyes
Much better! I don't mind the constant flow, but wasn't a fan of the new design. - Vince DeGeorge
Done. and loving it. Thanks AJ! - Dave
AJ, you da man! I like it very much. :) - imabonehead
using it here to... good stuff :) - Jay Martinez
I tweaked it so all it really did was get rid of the gray background, but left the font sizes and colors alone. Now it looks REALLY good to me. Will screenshot it now. Thanks, AJ! - Josh Haley
Using this now... soooo much better! :D - Brandon
i love it! :) - pm10
love it! seems better! - Business Blogger【ツ】™
very nice, thanks :D - PaperDoll
wow, just installed this, way better! - Marcos Marado
I agree! I think I like this much better. The Gray background was getting to me. - Kreg Steppe
Still prefer the post options from the 'old' freindfeed interface - they were out front & more available for on-the-fly, intuitive changing - Aaron the Librarian
@Aaron, I like the new one better. ;) - AJ Batac
Great job, AJ. Soooo much better. I hope that FF notices that we like their original clean design better and incorporate it into beta again so that I don't need a script for this. - Carmen
<too lazy to read through the comments> if you're using stylish, but aren't crazy about the Trebuchet MS font, go to Tools > Stylish > Manage Styles. Select "Cleaner FriendFeed" and click the Edit button. Go to line 8 and remove "Trebuchet MS" from the font-family declaration (font-family:"Trebuchet MS","Arial","Serif" !important;)</too lazy to read through the comments> - tiffany

Twitter is like paused friendfeed without comments. Without likes. Without play in line YouTube videos and flickr photos. :-)
But who actually uses the twitter interface, Robert/ - Alec Saunders
I like the old FriendFeed's speed, with the new FriendFeed design. The old FriendFeed auto-updated, but not nearly as fast. - Jesse Stay
that is just the right statement. Too much focus on 120 chars. Time to move on - Vivek Puri
Do you remember, well... jaiku? :) - Claudio Cicali ♋
But who actually uses Twitter on the web, Robert? Everyone I know uses tweetdeck - Alec Saunders
I use the Twitter web site often, as a complement to twitter clients both desktop and mobile. - Odi Kosmatos
Alec, i do. Why? I hate tiny EXEs taking up memory that my IDE needs - Vivek Puri
Twitter is like Friendfeed with all your friends instead of just a few... - Stephen Foskett
FriendFeed is like Facebook without the Apps - Eli Juicy Jones
that's exactly why twitter is useful... it focuses on one thing and one thing alone, a 140 char message... that's why sms's succeed where multimedia messages fail! - simran from twhirl
Is there a way to collapse the comments once you've opened them? - Pete Smith
simran, mms might have failed cause all phones are not mms compatible - Vivek Puri
LOL! the way I tend to use twitter, it's nothing BUT comments and likes.. just not any good threading unless you have peoplebrowsr (and even then) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
It's not paused because Tweetdeck, etc. can refresh automatically. It has RTs instead of likes. I agree a client needs to implement inline YouTube/Flickr/etc. but these are client issues. FriendFeed client may be superior to Twitter's web client but there are other Twitter clients out there. - Aral Balkan
Ooh, that said you can *edit* your stuff... oooh, now that I like :) - Aral Balkan
no one uses the twitter website Robert. I actually like having a second client open to monitor things but that's me - Seth Goldstein
Twitter doesn't have like but it has a favourite option. If spreading the word is the objective there is always an RT =D By the way, I have been using twitter website more since the new design rolled out.. feel snappier than before esp. when shuttling betw @mentions and home - | Balu |
We're definitely intrigued by the convergence of the Friendfeed and Twitter (and new Facebook) UIs and the implications for usability and user conventions. First thoughts here: http://bit.ly/4muyzM - CDG Interactive
@vivek, all phones did not introduce mms capability because the takup rate was abysmal! not all phones were SMS enabled when SMS came out! - simran
@simran, SMS was made part of the GSM standard 24 years back. And current use of SMS is not what it was intended for. For more, you always have wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - Vivek Puri
I am thinking that if know one uses the Twitter web interface then it's going to be a tough monetization unless they start charging a licensing fee for the API. - JP Holecka - Jaypiddy
But honestly...does it even really matter? After all having the best product has next to nothing to do with whether or not you have a dominant product in terms of marketshare. - Devlin Dunsmore
I hope FriendFeed is not trying to be the next Twitter/Facebook and stays aware of it's core-feature which was (imho) a quick & dirty way of getting good discussions running.. I don't need real time updates of everything.. HEEEEEELP! - Dan van Moll
looooooooooooooooooool Everyone is freaking out without toying with the lists I think!!! haha This is a funny day online. - Aaron S
I wish Friendfeed had a "dislike" button too. (Not for this post, but others...) - Kevin Trotman
... and this is what I like about Twitter. - Benedikt Koehler
Alec, I actually use Twitter.com itself and Tweetdeck. Alot of users do that too. - Nicholas James
You mean it's not paused? ;) - Joe Dawson
Yeah, seriously using the Twitter website for Twitter is like driving a car out of the factory with just wheels bolted to the engine, nothing else. The API is there but you're only getting the bare magic without the proper experience. - Glenn Batuyong
But, I keep going back to the twitter web interface. It's a matter of critical mass of something something. - Mike Nayyar
@vivek ... case in point... people transform technologies to be useful... they have done so with twitter, they will do so with ff... being part of the GSM spec means nothing... handsets had to support it and support for it grew after a lont time and bitwise... look at the practical uses, not theoretical papers, if you want to understand trending (as opposed to "possibility"). - simran
Johnny Worthington
So who here is looking at changing their profile picture now that it is so highly visible?
April 6 from IM - Comment - Share
me, but not because it's so highly visible. My car is actually behaving now. - Jim Hearts FF
LOL... - Johnny Worthington from IM
Me for sure. This weekend after my vacation. I won't be so pasty colored. - Jeremy Kunz
I feel like I had to change it because of the grey background. A black & white icon didn't look right. This = MAJOR FAIL to me. If I used my profile pic as a branding tool, I would be highly pissed off. - Mark Wilson
I didn't change it yet. - Morton Fox
Ok, my mistake. It shows up on the white profile box too. Still, I hate seeing it on the grey background to the right. - Mark Wilson
I change my photo often. Probably too much. :) Wondering if it being so obvious will curb that habit? - ♥patricia♥
Not me. I'm kind of excited that my middle finger is just that much more prominent. - tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Already did. - Louis Simoneau
I Will. NEVER :) - directeur
That's a good point Pea... Since now we will probably look for the icon to identify the poster rather than the name, how important is it to keep it consistant... - Johnny Worthington from IM
Nope, leaving mine the same! I look cute in it. That may never happen again. - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
That grey background looks pretty good with my grey hair :) - jcunwired
No, I'm staying with my usual - Mo Kargas
Change my profile picture? What does that even mean? - Akiva Moskovitz
I've been meaning to change my profile picture for a while, just never got around to doing so. - Andrew Trinh
I just changed my pic, it's too sexy to change anyway - Rahsheen ™, Coach of FF
I'll probably keep on changing mine. Dunno what it will be next though. - CW™
I altered mine ever-so-subtly. - LogEx
No change here, I love mine. It shows I mean business (or am pretending to mean business). - PENGUIN: MAJOR CAPS LOCK
im keeping mine! :) - (jeff)isageek
I changed it, but not for the fact of the redesign, it was for all the services I'm on. Or, at least, post on the most. - Mike Nayyar
I already have my current "main" avatar here so I'll keep it same. - Tony
Wolfman-K
Am I the only one who likes the new beta friendfeed live feed? It just suits my internet induced ADD I guess. :)
Yeah, this is awesome. - Gary H
You aren't the only one. I'm surprised at how much people don't like it. - Jeremy Kunz
I think it's easier to read then the old style. - Ralph Whitbeck
Johnny Worthington
I'm kinda glad I went to bed and wasn't around for the launch. It's very hard to test true useability when everyone is 'losing their shit' :P I think I'm gonna go on FriendFeed until I get home tonight and have had a chance to clean up a few lists, set up some filters and get a feel for it under 'normal conditions' :D
April 6 from IM - Comment - Share
I like it, I just need to do some 'yard work' first :D - Johnny Worthington from IM
It was a mad house earlier. But, its much calmer and mellow now. - Mathew™ one of a kind
Johnny, if you have time could you post some sort of "here's how I rock friendfeed" for those of us who would like to, but need a little more skillz (and timez). - Jim Hearts FF
I like it ... but I had been using real time a little bit and I'm not subbed to hundreds of people so it's good for me :D Also, good morning Mr Worthington! :D - Penny
Will do :D - Johnny Worthington from IM
Morning Penny :D - Johnny Worthington from IM
hee hee ... once I changed the color scheme, I like it just fine. :) - Steven Perez
I'm on Chrome... :( - Johnny Worthington from IM
me too... *fistbump* - Jim Hearts FF
AJ's userstyle for Firefox and hitting the pause button took care of my major whines. :) I'm happy now. - ♥patricia♥
