thing is, with the hardware you are supposed to have at least a 12 month warrenty that will replace defective hardware. Note, defective not "I jammed my knee into the screen". How reliable are the warrenties issued by apple and what kinda duration are they? A support coverage that will repair damage caused by you rather than defective hardware is quite good, will give props for that. How often do the mac sporting FFers have to call on apple care for things you have broken rather than the hardware failing through no fault of your own? Would be interesting to see the stats between what would be covered under the standard warrenty and what would require the apple care coverage. - alphaxion

I didnt buy it for my iBook i got about 4 years ago, didnt have any trouble with that (and it was a refurb). Its coming up to the time i shoud think about getting it for my MacBook now though, as i got it for my birthday December last year. I'm thinking i will go for it. Girlfriends mums Macbook recently needed a new keyboard and top section, and without it being under warrenty still it would of cost over £100 in parts and fixing. Only took them one day to get it all fixed up and back to me though :) - Simon Wicks
