"As a Texan (from Austin), I am so embarrassed by Governor "Good Hair" Perry. When Bush was in office if Democrats had suggested that a state leave the Union because they didn't like Bush's policies, they would have been tarred and feathered as UnAmerican. Now, I hear all of the right-wing crazies suggesting that or worse. All of a sudden it is ok. What a bunch of hypocrites."

Pro-choice women, don't fall for McCain's flip flopping on this topic. He will fall behind the Republican Party's stand on abortion. He can't be trusted to keep this personal choice a personal one. He feels that government has the right to decide what happens in a women's body.

As much as anything else, presidential campaigns are won and lost by the media narratives that rightly or wrongly come to define a candidate. In the case of Repubican nominee John McCain, the seemingly unshakable narrative of the political "maverick" could not be further off the mark. At almost every turn, McCain in his eternal quest for the White House has reversed long-held positions, compromised core principles and swallowed his pride in order to curry favor with both the leading lights of the conservative movement and right-wing Republican primary voters. The untold story of campaign 2008 is simply that of John McCain's transformation from maverick to prostitute.

If Sen. Hillary Clinton has to run as her party's nominee in the fall, her husband just made it a little more difficult for her to win in the key state of New Hampshire. (Not to mention if she ever has to run in a Democratic primary there again.)

Wednesday morning, the Clinton campaign sent reporters and bloggers covering the campaign a statement that consisted of questions and comments under the title of "Keystone Test: Obama Losing Ground." The Obama campaign's communications department decided to annotate those questions and comments with some comments of their own... and boy, they held nothing back.
