More for me!!! Also, you clearly never had my grammy's pumpkin pie.

Are you eating storebought pies or homemade?
- Spidra Webster
you don't like pumpkin pie? that's not a euphemism? can i have your slice?
- Kendra K
Spidra, I've tried both. The storebought ones are clearly worse, however.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
Kendra, you can have all of the pumpkin pie I have ever been offered. Every single molecule of it.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
Have you eaten pumpkin pie made by someone lovingly referred to as "Meemaw?"
- The Letter M
M, I'm not sure. I don't have a Meemaw of my own, but thinking about Big Mama's sweet potato pie makes me a little misty.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
pumpkin pie is gross, but there are others who find pleasure in it, and I will not deter them
- RAPatton
This is a man (without pumpkin pie).
- Micah Wittman
One more thing: I don't like most sweet potato pies. My mom's pie has lemon juice in it, and it's not overly sweet. I can actually taste the sweet potato.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
As long as I'm losing subscribers today, the only way I will ingest marshmallows is in Rice Krispies Treats.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
Not even flaming on the end of a stick? I.. . don't understand.
- The Letter M
Solidarity brother, solidarity. Also? Sweet potato pie? Unless is drowned in whipped cream, get it out of my face.
- EricaJoy
Not even flaming on the end of a stick. I am unanimous in this.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
Well then... would you be opposed to using marshmallows, flaming on sticks, as torches whilst wandering in the woods? (moment of sanity: I really dislike marshmallows. Even in cocoa)
- The Letter M
Actually, I don't have a problem with them as long as I don't have to eat them. As a source of light and heat, I guess I'll give them a pass.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
marshmallows are for burning, not for eating.
- Kendra K
I stand with H3rvey. If I could RE-follow him to show my support, I would.
- Kevin Pedraja
I don't like pumpkin pie, but I do like pumpkin bread.
- Anna Haro
I don't like pumpkin pie, with one exception - the pumpkin pie made by my friend Mike. It is just enough different than most that I can eat a bit. Not a whole piece, but it doesn't make me retch.
- Jennifer Dittrich
I've had some pretty good pumpkin bread. I can deal with that.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
I don't like pumpkin pie, either. It's Scott's favorite, but being allergic to cinnamon, he has to be VERY particular about the pumpkin pies he indulges in.
- Ladybug Heather
Oh LBH.. that seriously sucks. Pumpkin Pie with no cinnamon is good but missing things. Would guess a lot of whip cream would be needed to help
- CW™
Dear Harvey, Due to this post, the Department of Homeland Security has chosen you for deportation. No American is allowed to not like pumpkin pie. We will be by shortly in jack boots to escort you to the nearest airport.
- Alex Scoble
Well, well, well ...I don't like STUFFING! SO THERE!
- Jeremy
Dear, Jeremy, Due to the comment you made in this thread, the Department of Homeland Security has chosen you for deportation. No American is allowed to not like stuffing. We will be by shortly in jack boots to escort you to the nearest airport.
- Alex Scoble
Jeremy, when you say "stuffing," do you use it as a noun or a verb?
- The Letter M
Aden, will you still be wanting your Saturday 9pm glute massage? Somebody's been bugging me for that slot.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
oh really? Well if you boys (and girls...hey not picky) want to trade slots, that is fine with me. Variety pleases the Aden. :)
- aden (yeah you heard me)
I can't promise you can get that slot back, though. Choose wisely.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
I'll pass up the pumpkin for apple any day. In fact, I would pass up the pumpking and skip dessert. But I do love stuffing something fierce. And I love white people. And kittens. And old pickup trucks. But I don't like mean people. Mean people suck.
- Martha
Going to the original statement, WHOA.
- Mike Nayyar
Ha3rvey - The kind of pumpkin pie I see most people make doesn't do it for me. I'll eat it, but I agree with your comment about it being "cloying" and "lacking depth of flavor." I do like the version that my family (correction - I) make but it is very different. It's basically a traditional custard pie flavored with some pumpkin (about 1/2 cup), a smidge of almond extract, vanilla, spices, and browned butter. It is really smooth and light.
- Katy S
Wow. Are you even human? You don't like pumpkin pie, marshmallows, sweet potato pie and sour cream? (I forgive you for the sour cream - don't like it either, Blech). It's so sad. I don't know what to say. I make a mean pumpkin spice bar with spice frosting (it's like crack it's so good), but I don't know if I'd share it with you since you hate all the good stuff. Hmmm.
- Cassandra
Cassandra, I actually love my mom's (and my aunt's) sweet potato pie. Most others just taste like cinnamon, nutmeg and FAIL. I can't help it. I'm from Louisiana. We're all weird.
- Ha3rvey (Free hugs!)
Ok. You've redeemed yourself quite a bit, being from Louisiana (I lived in NOLA for 3 years) and liking your family's sweet potato pie. And, I'm feeling generous today. :)
- Cassandra
Sweet potato is definitely superior. As a kid, I couldn't tell them apart for a while and finally realized why sometimes it sucked and other times it was great. Now, I know the diff...lol
- Rahsheen ™, Coach of FF
I'll eat it, but I don't like it. I prefer sweet potato pie, especially my 'healthy' version.
- cecily
Seriously, the custard version of pumpkin pie we do in my family is awesome. The pumpkin flavor is much more subtle since it contains about 1/4 to 1/3 of the pumpkin that most pumpkin pies contain. The browned butter rises to the top and creates a slight crackly look. The almond and vanilla extracts blend well with the cinnamon and nutmeg, too. Here's a less-than great photo of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos...

I have a 'thing' for sheets... so I have a lot of sets I have to rotate out... eventually the fitted ones have to be folded :( I don't believe it's possible.
- Jason
I make sure the elastic bits are inside then I fold it like a regular sheet. It does get puffy though.
- Anika
I /hate/ fitted sheets. I just throw them in the cedar chest and not worry about folding. :-P
- Jason Huebel
I think it's one of those things... once you figured it out - you have reached enlightenment and you don't have to come back to earth anymore to fix everything you did wrong in past lives... Anika, you're almost there!
- Jason
When I was doing volunteer work for my church, they taught us a military-style tuck/fold method of using a regular sheet in place of your fitted sheet. I liked that so much better. Added benefit was no fitted sheet nonsense.
- Jason Huebel
I used to have to lay the sheet on the floor or bed to fold it. It's only in the last 2 years, that I've been able to fold them standing up and have it the same size as the top sheet when folded.
- Anika
Line up the elasticized edges and fold them in on all sides until you have a rectangular sheet. Then fold it again.
- Michelle
Michelle it's not that easy! well for me at least... I don't think I'm as far along on my path to enlightenment as I would like to think ;)
- Jason
Ha! I fought them for years and this lady who owned the laundromat I used to go to showed me how to do it. I don't get it perfect every time but it is better ;-)
- Michelle
Hate the damn things. Every time I fold one, the end result is a bit different.
- Yolanda
If you put ALL of the fitted sheets on your bed you could just take them off one at a time as needed. Once the laundry hamper set aside only for your fitted sheets is full, you wash, dry and start over. Plus your bed would be really, really comfy and fluffy.
- Lisa L. Seifert
Neither can I, but I would really love to be able to do that. Of course, I also ache to travel to other solar systems & galaxies.
- josh neff, Fun Dip of FF
I know! I think it would be so scarily awesome to be in their shoes. To look back and then turn around and look out at everything else out there. Are the stars brighter out there?
- Yolanda
from IM
This universe is just so vast & amazing! It makes me sad that I'll only get to see a teeny, tiny part of it in my lifetime.
- josh neff, Fun Dip of FF
I think if I was able to go up there and look down on Earth and see all of those stars my heart would just be so overwhelmed that I would just die. And at that point, that would be okay.
- aden (yeah you heard me)
Exactly, Josh. I get sad reading some of these space articles and they talk about things that will happen so far in the future that I won't get to see them.
- Yolanda
from IM
Space just boggles my little brain cell.
- Yolanda
from IM
Exactly, Yolanda! I kind of wish I could live forever. I can't imagine being bored, with all the books there are to read, movies & TV shows to watch, music to listen to, people to meet--& I really want to see what happens to the human race in the future!
- josh neff, Fun Dip of FF
I hope that I can still see what's going on from wherever I go after this long day is over.
- Yolanda

I know that there's been some scoffing in some parts of the media about wealthy space-tourists wasting money on their trips, but if I had the means, I'd *totally* want to go into space!!
- Andrew Terry
I agree with Josh and Yolanda. It upsets me that there are wonders out there that we'll never see and can only imagine. Contact was on Saturday and I *so* envied Jodie Foster's character.
- Timothy Griffin
I'm hoping to find this out at some point in my future. Here's hoping that space tourism becomes at a point when I can both afford it and be healthy enough to do it.
- Mark Krynsky
I've heard many astronauts state that the moment they look back at the Earth for the first time from space is a life changing experience and one that puts many things that we take for granted in perspective. Support Space Travel.
- Carlos Ayala
Lemme guess... Doc is on the left and Sneezy is on the right? ;op
- Mark Jepsen
you sure that's not sleepy and dopey? derrick looks like he's catching some ZZZZs. and oh wait. did i just call my boyfriend dopey? um, it was said with love?
- tiffany
That shot of Derrick is amazing. I love the DOF and composition.
- Sparky, a big deal
Someone made Wolfenstein 3D...it was popular...Someone decided to then make Doom, it was even more popular...Someone then decided to make Rise of the Triad, it was even more popular...Ad nauseum.
- Alex Scoble
THE way to game as in, the only thing people care about playing are FPSs, the only game companies seem to want to make are FPSs, etc etc. It seems ass backwards to me. I played the shit out of Quake III. It was fun. Why do I want to keep playing the same game 10 years later? Because I can throw grenades? My bias is probably showing - I enjoy RPGs, strategy and stealth (Thief, Metal Gear...
- Mike Nayyar
Well, in that case, you're wrong, so I can't really help you. As far as FPS' being popular, they're relatively simple, easy to get into, and allow for a lot of variation within the genre that people like.
- Richard Lawler
There are other aspects of other genre's introduced into FPS, but the core of the games are still basically a FPS. Like adding an epic story, platforming, RPG.. but when it comes down to it, you're still shooting stuff.
- Rodfather
Game companies play it safe these days too. That's why there's so many sequels. If it ain't broke and sells, keep doing it.
- Rodfather
I've wondered about this myself. I don't get the reasoning behind it. Just weird.
- pea ♥ fierce as a woozle
