I'm still dissatisfied with it. The review, I mean. The film I was more than satisfied with. One of my favorites of the year, actually - why is it so often so much easier to write about bad films than good ones? Bah.

Reads well and makes me want to see it. You done good ;)
- Michael W. May
Thanks. :) I just didn't feel like I did justice to just how brilliant I think the film is - I mean, I said it was brilliant, but I didn't feel like I conveyed how breathtaking an experience it was.

Yeah, it's a "web app". Not a native App Store app. But it does the job when you're wanting to rank on the go. We'll revisit it and work on making it into a full-fledged app eventually.

I ended up going with Casablanca, but it was hard - one of my all-time faves vs. one of my all-time faves from probably my favorite working directors. Nathan, the cleanness of the iPhone interface works really well; the only thing I wish is if it had the ability to rank on filters (I find not much changes if I rank on everything these days), and a notification if something moved in the rankings - just like a pop-up that says "Casablanca moved from 37 to 24".

AFI Fest is officially over. First film festival for me was a huge success - 10 days, 17 films (including at least two that will certainly make my top ten list this year). I've got the bug now; just being that engulfed with film, filmmakers, film critics, and filmgoers was intoxicating. Can't wait until the next one.
Last day of #afifest, relocated to Santa Monica. A TOWN CALLED PANIC on deck; I get so ridiculously excited for stop-motion films.” (at Laemmle Theatres Inc)
*drools* We used to have one around here, and they'd sell some of their stuff at the grocery store, too, but one day everything Krispy Kreme-related just disappeared from my life. :( I miss the frosting filled goodness.

My theory: I've probably just not had high quality pinot. It's all about the quality. I've had plenty a shoddy red. One day I'll try more whites. One day.....
- Mike Cavaliere
I'm not that big a fan of whites. I've had one or two I liked, but in general, nah. As far as high quality, I'm pretty much into the $8 bottles from Trader Joe's. :)
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
hahah yep! The $8 bottles are automatics. Yellowtail's not bad. Woodbridge I think is another one (or is it "Chalet--somehting"?..). Every now and then when it's on sale you gotta spring the the $15 Coppolla Claret, though. Now THAT's my idea of high quality.
- Mike Cavaliere
Oh, I lied. The one I just finished was BV Coastal Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. I got that when my parents were here a few weeks ago - dad likes Cab a lot. Next bottle is Kenwood Pinot Noir (bought by my dad to replace the one they drank). Clearly, I am not a wine conoisseur. :)

FRAK, burned the cookies. You'd think I'd learn. But no. I always burn them. EVERY DAMN TIME.

We ALL back that - as long as you ship COOKIES.

In other computer-related issues...finally got in contact with iomega about my 6-month-old-and-already-busted external drive. They said it sounds like a power supply issue (not getting enough power to spin up the drive) and are sending a new one. *fingers crossed* I'm tired of running up against my internal drive's limits every week or so.
My Macbook has suddenly decided to go nuts. I restarted it earlier tonight after Firefox stopped responding (don't know why, possibly just hogging), and when it came back up, it had lost the wifi and I had to reconnect and it reset the date to 2000. Then just now it popped up Mail (which I don't use) for me to setup and won't let me cancel out.
On occasion, my mail app has wonked out and couldn't send/receive mail because I needed to enter the password.
- Derrick
Then Gmail crashed and won't reopen (says "the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"). Now it's popping up a blank iCal Alarm and is beeping all over the place. I force quit stuff and restarted it, but it's doing the same thing. WHAT THE HELL AND HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
But I never use the mail app, Derrick. I never set it up, because I always use Gmail through the browser. I don't know why it wants me to set it up now.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Okay, I still don't know why it started doing all that in the first place, but I let the iCal beep for a while and it finally came up with alerts from my Google calendar going like three years back. It stopped beeping and let me close Mail and now Gmail in the browser works again. I guess for some reason it thought it needed to sync with Google for all my shit? I really don't recall telling it to do that...
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Hmmm, I'm just not starting to use the Google stuff, so I don't know. Hit up Josh Schnell. He's hella Mac-y.
- Derrick
AHA, I bet I know what it is. I just installed Chrome for Mac from the developer channel, and I bet that made Google think they had the right to sync up all my stuff or something.
