Avec le temps réel et des clients AIR, je pense que son utilité changera d'un simple aggrégateur (d'ailleurs MyBlogLog faisait la même chose) vers un concurrent Twitter. Car finalement, tout le monde a un compte, mais très peu l'utilisent réellement. A part Scobble qui ne jure que par ça.

Phil, je pense que Scoble adore Friendfeed parce qu'il a besoin de filtre anti-bruit pour son taff (social media, sponsorisé par Rackspace). Rien de plus. Et par expérience, Friendfeed est de très loin le plus efficace pour taire le bruit (très peu de spam, opérateurs de recherche puissant...). Ensuite, s'il en fait un peu beaucoup, c'est que c'est super addictif. Il faut se rappeler...

Au fait, Lucile, je te recommande vivement de n'utiliser que la page Web (oublie les applications, même pour les téléphone pour lesquels friendfeed.com/iphone cartonne). Tu as les alertes IM/e-mail si t'as un besoin crucial de notification (sur la barre de chaque feed/liste).

Je pense qu'avec la montée de FF, des dévelopeurs vont nous faire de belles choses, mais à la différence de Twitter, la page Web fait déjà tout (et en fera davantage avec la sortie de fonctionalité optionnelle, à la Gmail Labs).

I think Twitter is raising way too much money - Here's why:

Based on this information: http://twitstat.com/twitter... only 33.41% are using Twitter from the web, other are using it from all kind of other third party apps. So I'm wondering, what can Twitter possibly give us to improve web experience? after all, my web page already looks really useful because I customized it with tons of Greasemonkey scripts - do I really need Twitter to improve that? But I can think of two things that I want to have asap - A) Ability to easily search in my own twitter history (all history). B) Better ways to search Twitter content in General. But hey, I can also think of a way to save Twitter money - Stop giving SMS for free. If some countries can deal with that, I think everyone can. Bottom line - do they really need so much money to improve the service?

infrastructure is a huge issue. for all that archiving everybody is asking for to work, maintained and backup .plus, since last time they raised money, lots of changes happened. ev took over as CEO, they are more transparent about what happens even when they screw up. ev promised to unveil the biz model pretty soon, so let's wait and see

Infrastructure can eat a lot of money for sure. But I still fail to see really how they can build a solid business model if most of their users use external clients, unless they add on-top paid services. But again, I would still wonder about the ROI.
