"Getting off the plane at Cape Town International back from the horrid and absolutely filthy Durban, I have never been more thankful to live in a spectacularly safe and clean city. After driving through Durban’s grime and filthy central city you become aware of how well Cape Town is managed. I get up in the morning look at the gorgeous view - Table Mountain, Lions Head, Signal Hill and the harbour, and all I can say is thank you. I have a knack for making things work I don’t believe in VC capital from the outset. Hell – I’ve never even used overdrafts for any of the businesses Although I won’t sell my soul or my lifestyle easily, I do think VC can be a nice-to-have when you growing a business. Perhaps VC funding should be aimed at businesses that have proved themselves? "Without getting into a lengthy debate…. can I point out that not all tools HAVE to be used specifically for social media campaigns. As an example, Twitter could be used as a method of subscription, a users’ preferred medium to keep tabs on information relevant to him – without actually wanting or requiring interaction. Social Media has it’s place, so does each element or channel within it. Let’s not forget that there is more to online strategy than just social media. It comes down to clear objectives and a desired outcome. The ‘HOW’ or the process in between can be done in several ways – often there are ways less painful than the social media vampire who sucks time and resources from companies that are not equipped to deal with the unknowns in an unpredictable environment." - Beverley
